About
They worked hard to get where they are now. Coming from a middle-class family, they tried their hardest to work to the top with unbelievable grades in high school and university. They were highly ambitious even at the start of their career, which was something eventually overshadowed by the reality of things; corrupted prosecutors, bribed judges, forged evidence... It wasn't a dominant reality in the law field of Nødre but they could feel it creep onto the scene more and more as the years went on.
Being a public defense attorney, they had to face many different kinds of courtroom atmospheres, but none ever came close to the ones around cases they had against Matteus Nilsen. He was a prosecutor revered for his condemnation rate... and rumoured to work with people from the shadows. Toma kept losing case after case with people they had believed to be innocent. Even their bargaining and eloquent points went over the judge's head when Matteus was the prosecuting attorney. For justice, they had to do something about this.
It was unfortunate they had to get their hands dirty to protect the truth, but Matteus never listened to reasoning or criticism. However, they now had hard evidence he was corrupt and they were about to use it for the benefit of fair trials. Matteus was terrified, but did as they said; for his career was about to topple if he didn't obey their every request. ...The power got into Toma's head and they kept asking for more, especially when complicated feelings came into play.
Their blackmail leads to more of their clients being ruled as innocent. Many take notice of the experienced lawyer who could beat even Matteus Nilsen and bring the truth to light. Meanwhile, the cracks within their rival's career have just now started to show.
A recent insignificant case pertaining to one of Nødre's most prestigious academies is just about to change their whole life. The defendants? Luleni and Ivory, two demons charged with attempted murder in the grounds of the academy. The prosecutor? Matteus, of course, but he feels... off, somehow. His usual snarky and deceitful persona is obscured by his strange desire to theatrically make more of a fool of himself. His eyes are... different and he started scoring an out-of-place scarf too. ...Just what is going on here?

Design Notes
Toma looks quite similar to Tam's KG-0008 canon self. They are a light skinned human with hair pointing upwards and long bangs. Their eyes are down-turned and almond-shaped, brown in colour. Their eyebrows are long and thin whilst their nose is stubby, square-ish and sharp. Body-wise they are thin, long and fit with soft skin. Despite that, they're short. Their hand type is rounded square. They like dressing in white, blue and yellow.
Their work attire is pretty simple but enriched with little pieces of jewellery. They wear a dark blue button shirt and a yellow cravat under a blue waist coat with dark blue accents and gold buttons. Their pants match their button shirt and dark blue heels. On the left side of their waistcoat's collar (our right) they pin their attorney badge adorned with light blue ribbons, much like their asymmetrical earring on their right ear (our left). Fun fact: they are right-handed!
It's time for some trivia!
- ...Dominant and assertive huh-
- Their mannerisms are quite elegant, even whem they call themselves "but a humble servant of Themisius' judgement".
- They had to do unlawful things to get dirt on Matteus, but they do not regret what they have done. Sometimes, the ends justify the means.
- Their feelings for Matteus are... complicated. They fail to understand them, but they sure do act upon them - just not in a healthy way.
- Their mannerisms are inspired a lil bit by Miles Edgeworth but their outfit is based on my favourite character of the Ace Attorney series, Apollo Justice.
- Is this an indirect way for me to obsess over stupid lawyer drama? Yes. Absolutely.
