Blaire was lost after loosing her son. It nearly broke her, but then she met Luca. Luca changed her life for the better and sees him like a son.

A former experiment of The Safe Spot, now he's a ghost looking for his purpose.
Luca always felt like there was something more he had left to do, and then he met Blaire. She'd lost everything and was in desprate need of a friend and Luca knew she needed him.

Blaire and Luca's story mentions struggling with mental illness and brief mentions of death.
Blaire has magic which lets her communicate with ghosts and those who exist in the space between Kinz and Nym, which has been very useful to TSS over the years. After Blaire's first, and only, son was born TSS had hopped he would take over for Blaire. But Blaire wanted a better life for her son, and was determinded to make sure he didn't live the life she had. While she never liked him, Blaire decided to confide in Dr. Rook (who had been assigned Blaire after she became pregnant). At first Rook was hesitant, but he could see her son was tiny and didn't think his body could handle the tests. So Rook did as much as he could to stall the seperation of Blaire and her son, but by the time he turned four his boss became suspicious and they had to do something. Rook came up with a plan; erase her son's memory and set him free into the world, but tell Rook's boss that he couldn't handle the first experiment and died. Blaire didn't like the thought of being seperated from her son, but she knew this was her best option and agreed. So Rook acted out the plan.
Luca had been a ghost within TSS' halls, long before Blaire or her son were born. Luca lived, and died, the story Rook and Blaire made up for her son. Except he managed to hold out until he was eight. While the years passed Luca never aged mentally, and being trapped within TSS could be very scary sometimes. But Luca couldn't help but feel that there was some reason he should stay within TSS.
After being seperated from her son, Blaire became depressed. Rook tried his best to cheer her up, but nothing seemed to work. It nearly broke her, then Luca found her. Blaire had grown used to ignoring the ghosts that wander TSS, but Luca was persistant in gaining her attention. Eventually the two of them started to talk, and a bond slowly formed.
Now Blaire and Luca have a close mother-son relationship, and while Blaire stills struggles with depression, having Luca around makes the dark days just a little bit better. Not to mention recently Rook found a picture of her son, who goes by Chip now, with his adopted family.

Blaire lost him when he was so young. She misses him deeply but knows that it's for the best he has no idea she exists.
Luca doesn't know Blaire has a son, she never talks about her past, but he has seen pictures of him and knows he means a lot to Blaire.
Rook
Blaire's assigned doctor.
Blaire used to dislike him greatly, but after he helped her with her son she's grown to tolerate him.
Luca barely knows Rook and is wary around him.
