A so-called “lonesome” PC-88 detective backed up by nothing other than 2 MSX2 machines, Gillian is nothing more than the definition of acting first and thinking later from following on his impulses. With his bodyguard, David Harris, at his side to pull him back out of dangerous situations and assist him in his investigations, they've both been through situations pushing them further and further. Though, even with all this, it feels as if some things weigh him down, some more than others including a loss he had faced shortly after becoming a detective at the age of 30.

While he can be somewhat distant when working on his cases in favor of getting them done without wasting time, he won’t hesitate to lend someone a helping hand or two if he’s not busy in any way. Outside of work, he’s much more of an outgoing person but… also a bit more of a prankster at times. Due to the fact that he never thinks before acting out, this also extends to the jokes he cracks sometimes stepping over the line in terms of the jokes he makes. That, and his friendly “rivalry” with Andres that dates back to when both were working in the police force tends to concern people that don't know of their ties together, especially with how far they both go with it at times.

Despite all this, he's quick to trust people outside of investigations, like with getting Mika Donchenko to help him out whenever she's available with some work around his agency due to her photographic memory. However, after several incidents with a mysterious individual that ended up being Yuri Ingram under an astronaut's helmet to disguise himself, it's only managed to snap him back harder than before he started the detective agency, to the point he feels as if he's seen him before. Even with the loss that happened with Yuri that seperated them, they've now stuck closer to the point of being inseperable (and even more so after he gets parts of his memories back).

Just don't ask Gillian what his favorite animal is. He'll just tell you it's embarassing for a grown man like him to have one. (He thinks penguins are cute...)
