About

Known to be stern and to-the-point. Iehiro is the "stiffest" of the Yagyu siblings, but also among all of the officers in the Yagyu family. He's the most trustworthy, even more than the patriarch himself. He's quite cynical and pessimistic, he doesn't completely get along with all of the members of the family. His closest companion is his older brother, who is apparently super attached to him like glue.

As the family's treasurer, he often prioritizes money over establishing a relationship with any of the members unless it's Ioku. Rarely he'll try to show empathy towards other - and when he does - it's probably important that he had to do it anyways.

In times of crisis and doubt and Io isn't there, he plays as the second-in-command in these situations. Despite strict, his intentions of protecting his family is his priority. The others respect him solely for this.

If he's alone, he becomes nervous. Hiro is known to hate being alone, and always wants someone to be by his side - especially during the night.

  • He finished school like his brother, and had plans to go to college to pursue an education in finance. However, when his brother joined the Yakuza, he changed his mind and followed him. Fortunately joining the family allowed him to go back to school to finish his degree in finance.
    > Thus, granting him the title of treasurer in the family. Potentially, he is also the next clan member to become the treasurer of the entire clan.
  • Easily swayed by handsome men. He spends a lot of free time in host clubs - solely for eyecandy.
    > He hasn't opened up about his sexual preferences despite it may be obvious at this point.
    > Attracted solely for looks.
    > He could be a host himself but he's bad at talking to people (nicely).
  • Can't sleep if no one is in the same room he's sleeping in.
    > Due to the traumatic events of his parents dying, he will occasionally have nightmares about it. His brother often comforted him everytime, thus why he has a hard time sleeping alone.
  • Stuck to his older brother like glue - one has to physically separate him from Io if he wants to speak to Hiro by himself.
  • Not necessarily a fighter. He uses money to have others fight for him when it's necessary.
  • He has no tattoos.
    > He says it interferes with his professionalism when it comes to business - and hides his identity that he is affiliated with the Yakuza.

Backstory

Ioku and his little brother, Iehiro was born in the Entertainment District. The two of them were raised by their parents, who lived in a small home that also shared a bar - the only source of income that the two could live off of. However, the District was known for the wild nightlife - attracting the Yakuza from all sides in order to claim territory as their own. The Yagyu family was no stranger in being the victim of them, who often hounded around and asked for "protection fees."

Io saw his father as a hero, who often did his best to fend off whatever men affiliated with the clan in order to be left alone. Despite it often ended with him with cuts, bruises, and even trips to the hospital - his mother calling for the police always seemed to ward them off for quite a while. Yet they kept coming back regardless of how long it took.

After Io picked his younger brother from school and walked back home, they were welcomed with the death of his parents. It was no coincidence that it was the Yakuza that constantly harassed them, ended up murdering them in the end.

He and Io had to give it up when he had nothing to manage it. The Yamatando-kai soon claimed it as their own and the Yagyu siblings would retreat to the safety of their only uncle.

They weren't respected by their Uncle, who often mixed himself up with the Yamatando due to his gambling addiction. Yagyu, scared of being alone in the night without his older brother, he often ran away straight home from school and remained in his room - playing games or doing his homework until his brother came home from practice.

One day, when Io came home, he told Hiro that they'd be moving out. Hiro understood that Io had no tolerance for their irresponsible uncle, he took him to a small apartment and met with a strange man who welcomed them. Hesitant at first, especially when he kept a gun with him at all times, he slowly opened up to the gentleman that would make sure they were well fed and protected.

(Story) The Prodigal

The stranger was there one day when he came home, while Io was out at practice. At this point, this would be a perfect time to question his purpose for asking constantly about the Yamatando-kai:

"Simply put: I want them gone."

"But why? You're not even from here."

"They're going after someone I love. Wouldn't you do the same, my child?"

"Why don't you go after the exact guys that want to kill them?"

"My child... it's more complicated than just finding the exact guys. They're all going to go after him."

Iehiro still doesn't understand what he meant in the end, nor the exact details of why, or who is Kibo's loved one. Regardless, their conversation was cut short when Io came back from kendo practice - leaving the two of them alone to catch up on recent events.

For years, he stuck by Io's side. He graduated school but he decided he wouldn't continue to pursue an even higher education. Confused as to why he'd preferred to be a host, or why he's doing so much for Kibo by delving into a Yakuza's territory... Hiro continued to follow him regardless. And when it was time for Io to join the clan, Iehiro didn't hesitate and joined right after him.

Of course, the younger Yagyu had his own reason to joining. The years of trauma he dealt with, he figured that ending the Yamatando-kai with his big brother would ease his stress he's dealt with when the nightmares in his sleep continue to haunt him.

Relationships

Kibo  [ "Uncle" ]

Iehiro knows that Kibo is part of a mysterious organization, but for sure it's not affiliated to the Yakuza. Kibo refuses to speak about the details regarding the organization (let alone... he doesn't even know the name of it), he assures him that his presence in Japan and wanting to destroy the Clan is more personal than it is professional.

The both of them don't get along as well as he does with Io, but Hiro still respects Kibo nonetheless. He doesn't open up his feelings, but being around him truly makes him feel safer. Even without Ioku by his side, he feels like he can rest easy if Kibo is there to watch.

Kibo is not there all the time. In fact, it's rare for him to be in the District nowadays. But if Hiro really needs him, Kibo is simply a call away.

Ioku  [ Older Brother ]

Ioku is the only family he has left in this world. And he's completely attached him. He doesn't speak about it, but he feels like Io is both his strength and his weakness. Hence he followed him into the dark world of the Yakuza. He may be irresponsible at times, but he trusts Ioku to know what he's doing as a proper patriarch. And if he screws up... everyone knows that Iehiro will be there to give him a lecture (or two).

When they finally had their own family, Ioku knows about his talents in handling money. And so he hands him the responsibility of being the family's treasurer.

Rogu  [ Boss ]

Rogu's purpose of the Yagyu siblings was not even having the manpower. It was moreso of their good looks so that they could model for him. Hiro doesn't complain about it, but he expected more brutal, harsh work but being under Rogu's guidance... there's was so much less of that compared to the other families. But even Iehiro knows that the Kurokumo can't be underestimated.
