[TIMELINE]
Hope (Main Profile) → Grand Prodigal → Agent Baron → [Hopeful (TNG)].

The Overseer is truly an enigma. Only their direct associates know of their real identity. And even without the Prodigal under their heel, the Overseer is still the most powerful information broker by themselves.

So how does their leader, with all the information in the world, truly remain safe in the darkness?
With his sheer determination, Agent Hope is spares no one if his Overseer is threatened. Among him and their trusted agents among the Main Guard, they're confident that the Overseer remains untouchable.

Demos actively interacts with both the Overseer and the Headmasters within the Main HQ. And no matter how close you get to Hope, any of the newer agents know little to nothing about him.

About

Like his younger self Hope remains to be calm, confident, and well-mannered. But now he's grown older, he becomes wise while his intellect is unmatched. Hope nowadays is to be too polite at all times, many find his kindness to be too terrifying. Most of the time he leaves off so much details when conversing with people, leaving things open for interpretation from others that lead them to many mysterious ideas.
He remains loyal to the Prodigal and his family and will resort to more harsh actions if either of them are threatened by anything. The way he takes actions is relentless, albeit more fiery and tempered than many expect him to. He takes everything three times as more serious if his wife, husband, or child is involved.

Though gentle and collective, many of the Prodigies are somewhat scared of him; even Grandfather himself is somewhat worried of this hidden attitude. Hope will admit he is actually apathetic to anyone that isn't his family, friends or his acquaintances. Thus, it makes it harder for him to work with anyone that is outside of his social circle.

But even if this husband is perceived to be confident and fearless, the past with his wife had affected him greatly. Hope is a married man who greatly desires affection from his spouse(s). He prefers the company of the Overseer over all, attached to them at all times. If Agent Hope is not with the Overseer, his inner self becomes anxious. If this period of anxiousness is prolonged to a certain degree, his anxiety now becomes apparent and his emotions will become affected. Not often people find him in a depressive or an angry state, but such cases do happen if he cannot be with his loved one.

If he cannot be with his life-long partner, he will seek the company of his husband, Atticus. If either the Overseer and Atticus cannot be bothered due to the Prodigal (which is often), he does visit his children plenty.

  • Despite that his last name was changed through marriage, there are times where many refer him as 'Demos'. He strictly advises he prefers to go by Hope, to prevent the confusion between him and his husband Atticus.
  • Despite Hope isn't a teacher any longer, he still loves to teach. Whenever he has free time, he helps his best friend Chanse in his classroom, or is a substitute to some of the classes.
    > He's still bothered with the fact that he isn't teacher of the year yet - but he minds it less ever since Chanse became teacher of the year at some point.
    > There was one mission where Hope stumbles upon their hometown. Eventhough Hope flat out rejects it, Chanse ended up aiding him. In the end, Ransford ended up with a few cuts and bruises, but he was able to handle the more physical work - Ransford now knows how dangerous the Prodigal business is.
  • He's still an artist, but he doesn't do it as often as his other jobs.
    > Likes to visit different art galleries and museums. It's particularly is favorite thing to do during a date.
  • He was a lot more scarier than he originally is - though he doesn't look very intimidating, he way he works business is much more harsh and his process of success is usually secretive. Most of the time when things don't go his way involving his business, he takes the aggressive route.
  • Though not mentioned, Hope is skilled in martial arts and well-equipped with a gun. He's capable of handling himself physically.
  • He has separation anxiety: if he is not with his wife, he is immediately concerned and will becomes depressed/moody if he doesn't see her soon enough.

The story

As his daughter Lucia was born, Hope decided that he'd stop teaching (despite barely coming back to teach again) and become a stay-at-home father and artist just so he could personally care for his two children while his wife and husband are away. While Emery remains to take the seat as the Prodigal's Grand Overseer, Atticus stays active in the Prodigal - jumping between the organization and Hope's civilian life to keep both of them safe from any potential harm. Grandfather also keeps himself busy by trying to find a way to prevent the organization from gaining more enemies than they've had before.

Hope seemed desperate to be with his spouses, but he remained separate from the both of them as he continued to raise his children. The husband waited until both Junior and Lucia were at the correct age before he decided to pick up the gun and join his two partners.

Despite that Atticus and Emery disapprove of Hope's decision, they can't really stop him from doing anything brash. He is also one of the Prodigal's few agents that delivers any direct messages between the the Grandmaster to the smaller Prodigal members. After a few years, Hope is a promising guardian and a respective commander to the Overseer's Main Guard.
And with Junior, despite being the son of him and the women Hope protects, he understands that he is in danger if there was ever any public connections between the two of them. Therefore Junior's children/grandchildren were born with the Prodigal completely unknown to them.
However, one of his grandchildren going by the name of Aniki - he finds himself under the radar to teach Aniki different forms of martial arts.

(Story) The Entertainment District

During the honeymoon in Asia, he recalled a memory of Atticus sharing his long-lived life in Japan. Demos promised that he's forgotten everything about it. However, Atticus knew that previous life won't leave him alone.

As if he pretended nothing happened, it was the Overseer that found something suspicious that almost slipped under her nose. Unidentified movements jumping between Japan and America, many of these numbers that circled around locations that Atticus had been in. Hope was the first to take action, apprehending these individuals by himself. When these identified figures were affiliated to the Yamatando-kai, the Yakuza group that Atticus was once part of, he reported it to his husband immediately.

"Even if you destroy them, they will still continue to keep going until I'm gone. Do not waste your time with them, dear. The group will die on its own."

Hope, bothered with his answer, he finds himself dissatisfied that Atticus will not doing anything to stop them any sooner. With his wife permission, he travels to Japan to investigate the source of the Yamatando-kai by himself. He ventured around the HQ of the Yamatando-kai, within the booming, well-known Entertainment District in Japan. It has been years since the Agent has been to Japan's media capital, where he was a young boy that wished to pursue a music career like his parents. Aside from the geography and the familiar buildings of the district, seeing how it has evolved since he last visited - he knew nothing about it.

There, he stumbled upon two young boys. Victims of the Yakuza's crimes because their parents were killed by them solely for the ownership of a small bar. Hope, pitying these kids, took them in and lived with him during the two years he lived in Japan. He often found himself jumping back and forth between the District and to his wife, but he's covered enough ground in regards to the whereabouts to the Yamatando-kai.
He was more worried about sacrificing a number of his agents just to tear down the group using a rain of bullets. Plus, it may affect the relationship between him and Demos. He decided to take the long run, where the two boys, Ioku and Iehiro, would join the syndicate and destroy the group from within.

With their reassurance, Hope entrusts the task to them. Occasionally he'd come by and visit, but he warns that any failure and lack of progress will result in Hope bringing in manpower to take care of the matters himself.

The Overseer[ Spouse, Superior ]

The Overseer is not only the most important figure of the whole Prodigal organization, but they are the mother of his children Junior and Lucia. Hope is strongly protective of them and would go to great lengths to keep them safe. Thanks to that, he cautiously leads the Overseer's Main Guard. Everyone understands that Hope is the man that everyone must go through before they could meet with the Grandmaster. Many believe that Hope is simply dedicated to his role as an Agent and a Bodyguard, but the two of them have a past that cannot be forgotten.
To Hope, the Overseer is almost everything to him. If they fall, Hope will soon follow.

Atticus  [ Spouse ]

Hope is the father to Junior, while Atticus is the father to Lucia. Atticus treats Hope more as a wife than he does with Emery - hence why he prefers him to stay at home than continuing to work for the Prodigal. As always, he doesn't listen to his husband's warnings all the time - he carries out his plans carefully and often help Atticus carry out the Grandmaster's orders every so often. He'd rather put himself in danger to protect the both of them instead of playing "the mother" and waiting for his spouses to get home.
Despite their differences and they'd occasionally would be at eachother's throats (especially when Hope refuses to listen to him), Hope remains a diligent spouse and continues to love him. He understands that Atticus wants the best for their loving family, but he cannot help it if he has to constantly be separated from either him or their wife.

Chanse  [ Best Friend, "Partner in Crime" ]

Whenever Hope comes home to visit his children, he's always welcomed by his childhood friend, Chanse! Demos is relieved that Chanse held himself well, especially those depressive years that often sucked Ransford dry. It's been such a long time since he saw his best friend so happy...
However, there was one occasion where Hope came back home... but it was solely for a mission.

Chanse, as his best friend, would obviously be worried about his health and decided that it'd be a good idea to come along for the ride. Hope rejected it plenty, but even with threats, it didn't stop Chanse from joining him. Surely the mission costed him a couple of cuts and a broken bone (that he recovered within a few months), Ransford agreed that the Prodigal was just the type of business that he wasn't suited for. Hope, however, was impressed with his driving skills during the getaway. Though... he's concerned that his best friend will attempt to join him once more. Thus, he has the Overseer assign someone else to do the missions whenever it's located in our hometown.

But whenever Hope is there as a break, Hope enjoys visiting the school that he once taught him. And whenever Chanse is sick, Hope will have a hard time saying no for when he needs a substitute to handle his class.

Ioku  [ ??? ]

Ioku is a resident in Japan's "Entertainment District" and a renown captain of the Yamatando-kai. Yagyu is indebt to Hope for when he saved him as a young boy, and now he carries out Demos's wishes to take down the Yakuza clan that he currently works for. He cannot openly speak about the Prodigal and his reasons of destroying the clan, he appreciates Io for understanding... hoping that he'll remain alive to tell him whenever it's destroyed from within.

Kibo watches Io closely, worried about his safety, especially the days when he isn't in Japan. However, he taught both him and Hiro as much as he could in the practice of martial arts. Yet if anything were to happen to them... Hope has the power to unleash hell upon the Yamatando-kai.
