Personality

Fertig grew up as a kind, quite, reserved and polite man who does not budge when those who try to topple him over physically and mentally. He was raised well mannered with professional etiquette, along with excellent social skills during private and public parties that he attends to. However, Fertig grew up with a lack of friends, being an only child and spent many of his days and education being home schooled, therefore the only thing he lacks is being able to properly make friends because his mindset is "too honest."
Despite his rich lifestyle, his attitude and manners have never changed - he even dislikes the idea of those looking down on them with such disrespect. He even takes an interest in the middle class and the poor, and he generally takes sides of the poorer during court cases. With friends, Johannes is an adventurous person. His recent friends in America are all from middle-class families, and he often enjoys spending time in a commoner's lifestyle, such as spending time in the park, or walking around the mall.
From a genetic defect, Johannes was born infertile and thus cannot make children. Therefore he isn't very interested in finding a wife or any other romantic interests. However, he has an interest towards a certain individual who often struggles relying on him when Hans is seemingly desperate to help him.
Hans has a very large budget due to his profession and his family's very large business. Therefore he doesn't really care how reckless he spends and gives away money.

The Backstory

Hans was born rich, an only child to the Fertig family, a long line of business owners. His parents had given birth to him at a late age, and therefore don't have much an opportunity to produce a second heir to their company. His direct family, is the owner of a famous German-chocolate company.
Unfortunately, Hans was born with a slight genetic defect: He is infertile and cannot produce any children of his own. His parents aren't upset about it but more so disappointed about this case. His father still raises Johannes well and a capable business leader. Johannes becomes a very talented and intellectual businessman and a lawyer. His mother, on the other hand, has raised mixed feelings towards her only child and often pesters him to find a lover. She'd even introduce Hans to several women in hopes that Hans could be possibly attracted to them and have a family.

The Story Now
Johannes parents were often busy and this young man grew bored of his home country. Making an excuse to his mother that he was seeking a wife in the United States, he flies himself to North America to explore the vast majority within the country.

Hans had little to no friends, and therefore ventured around the places alone.

Up until a point where he found himself in Las Vegas at the late night, he meets a young girl at a nearby cafe while looking for a place to sit down. Hans spent his time listening to Emery's predicament of being kidnapped and managing to escape from whatever seemed to have threatened her in the very beginning. Hans, easily putting pity and sympathy to the classes under him in the social ladder, he finds himself helping Emery and taking her back home in California. The journey was short, but somehow Hans seemed attracted to the middle-class lifestyle and decided to spend more time with Emery and her friends.

From Emery, he discovers Hyde, a large and a very intimidating young man who didn't seem to want any help from others - he only wanted to be the one to give rather than the one to receive. The lawyer found himself being drawn to Hyde's independency, therefore attempted to try and make friends with him and often wanted to spoil him more than most people had tried. Johannes is currently Hyde's biggest support. As Hyde's personal friend, the lawyer even developed feelings for him in the long run. Even if Hyde pushed him away, he only wanted to take care of him once he forcibly abandoned himself from his group of friends.

Hans currently watches Hyde from a distance as he continues to struggle daily in finding a job to support him and his daughter. Occasionally Johannes would also step in to babysit, but he finds himself spending more than with Hyde rather than any friend of family member he currently has.
With Hyde finally accepting him and revealing most of his past, Hans works his way up to finally become romantically involved with him. He would even bring his daughter out of the US country and into his home in Germany to introduce "his daughter" to his mother that accepted her right away.

Trivia

• Infertile, cannot produce an offspring.
  > However, he takes care of Hyde's daughter and considers her as his own. Even Johannes's mother hopes that the daughter will take over the business after Hans.
  > Never really was interested in having children in the first place. Nor a wife.
• Romantically pursuing Hyde and will not stop until he finally gives in and asks for his support.
  > Hyde is very stubborn and often refuses Hans' help and his utmost affection.
• A wealthy man from a wealthy family. His family owns a chocolate business that runs all throughout Germany and majority of Europe.
  > However, Hans would rather eat a bar of Snickers or Hersheys than taking another bite of German chocolate. Sometimes there are days where he's just tired of eating chocolate or anything sweet.
• Green is his favorite color.
  > Likes to wear a green suit. If any other color, he has plenty of green ties.
• A lawyer; or a defense attorney.
  > Most of the cases he's been involved with in court are often where he advocates to those who were innocently accused.
  > Has only lost two cases so far out of many.
• Aside from his work, his leisure time is spent on being with friends.
  > If he isn't with people, he'll just spend all his free time sleeping. He rarely has any hobbies.
• Likes to eat at fast food restaurants.
  > His favorites is KFC and In-N-Out.
  > Always gets a steak if he were to go anywhere else. Even if it's from a vegan place(?)
• Don't take him to a grocery store.
  > Will literally buy one of each item in the whole store and stores them in his apartment's pantry and will never touch again.
  > Hyde gets mad about this and tries to use as much of it as possible - which he often cooks for him and their friends.

Relationships

Hyde  [ Significant Other (?) ]

Not knowing much about Hyde and his past in the very beginning, he remained persistent in trying to help the young man. And almost all of his attempts often ended in failure because Hyde has been a stubborn man and refuses him countless of times. To Hans, he sees Esmer as a wonderful being and he hopes the man could finally give in, seek for his help, and continue to be supported by him and his wealthy lifestyle. Fertig even takes care of Hyde's daughter whenever he's busy, and then spoils her with sweets, toys, and plenty of fun around the city. Hans only hopes he could take Hyde's hand in marriage and so that he could remain by Hyde's side and call his daughter as his own.

Emery  [ Friend ]

Hans, for some reason, found Emery wandering around in a coffee shop in a very confused state. Not knowing that she was well over 300 miles away from her original home, Johannes tries to help her out by buying a flight for them to take a trip all the way back of her home. He eventually discovers that Emery had been kidnapped due to her connections to an private organization, he grew concerned of her well-being and remained in her city until he knew it was safe. Throughout those time Fertig grew fond of her and her several friends and therefore continues to come back just to see them every time he's gotten his free time.

Michael  [ Acquaintance ]

Michael is a detective that has worked with Hans on a few cases. He'd stay well connected with him every time he takes on a court case, hoping the man could work with him in trying to find any clues about Fertig's clients, who he believed were innocently accused. As a reward, Hans would treat Michael out for a drink, or possibly pay for his meal at a nearby diner.
