Artemis believes in the potential of those who study. Anyone who brims with creativity she can't help but want to take under her wing and teach. If you can surprise her in combat, you've already won her accolades.

While honorable and following a code of chivalry, she's not above underhanded tactics. In her own words "It's not cheating if it wins the contest. Blame yourself for not using every inch of advantage." Perhaps it is that mindset that bred the idea of the Piercing attribute within her.

She hates war. She spent the last few years of her mortal life on a cruel, bloody battlefield. In that she does what she is able to do in order to avoid creating more people like her: those who suffered in adversity and died without knowing what peace is like.

Though in peace she does not believe in complacency. In peacetimes she would like the youth to take up swords, to practice the craft of combat so they may be ready for any storm that may come their way.

She never had any children of her own. Though there are many accounts of her being a mother-figure to many of the troops under her command. Perhaps that is why her legions were some of the fiercest fighters among the coalition army - they were desperately trying to protect their found family.

Life

Artemis was born in 605AR during the period of the Natural decline. During this time, it can be said that the empires which Naturals ruled over were in the downturn, breaking apart due to war and simple genetics. As any dying superpower would do, they clamped down on Resonators and Maestros. It was especially difficult on the Resonators; any Natural would take out their frustrations on Resonators, with many being killed or enslaved.

This was its harshest on the streets where Artemis grew up, as there wasn't anyone willing to stand up for those who were abandoned by society.

Watching this for her entire childhood, this gave birth to a rebellious heart in young Artemis, breeding a near lust for combat techniques, especially in spellcraft. Her particular specialty was weakness exploitation. Even through opponents with the thickest of armor she could make her spells penetrate her opponent's defenses.

She would earn a name for herself and end up attracting the attention of Armando, who would recruit her for his cause.

Her time as a general is always recalled by her with fondness. She cared for her troops as if they were her own children. Her and her troops place in the battle line was at the front, piercing straight through the opponent's formation. Her quick wit and understanding of battlefield tactics lead to many victories before Armando or Isaac's branch ever saw any action.

How she died

There are many stories of her death. Some say she died during a raid on an enemy encampment, others say she was executed with her corpse paraded around by the enemy encampment. No matter the case, the woman herself won't say, but there is a certain bitterness that takes over her demeanor whenever her death is brought up, so it's best to avoid that subject

Life after Ascension

It's not entirely clear when exactly she ascended. There is a certain tale told that the three risen Noble Swords exacted bloody vengeance on the Natural nobility that killed them and their soldiers.

She appears infrequently in the public records from 700AR on, always aiding in rebellions which seek to help Resonator-kind. Like her comrades she very rarely takes up her sword, though there are accounts of her testing those who seek to innovate in the field of resonator combat.

Artemis personal sword, this blade represents the Piercing attribute in its fullest. The blade itself is made out of refined Vatonium ore, giving it a "life" of its own. This allows the holder to not only block enemy spellcasting, but to allow Artemis herself to channel spells through the weapon, allowing her spells to pierce her adversaries.

This relic also doubles as a Proto-Tuner, which Artemis presents to a maestro who embodies the rebellious spirit of Piercing. This fealty can be rejected by Artemis herself, at which point the relic return to her.
