As a kit Blackpaw started out happy. She was raised by Heatherrain and Nightsplash of Windclan along with her 5 siblings, Lilackit, Juniperkit, Whitekit, Sandkit, and Featherkit. They were born right before the war and before they could walk on their own their parents were killed in the fighting. Soon after the war ended and the journey started. During the journey Blackkit and her siblings caught green cough which took a few lives. All of her siblings died because of this sickness, leaving Blackkit all alone. She became fast friends with two kits named Bramblekit and Duskkit, them soon becoming like siblings. They were the only kind of family she had so she decided to follow them and their aunt to Stormclan, becoming an apprentice not long after.
