Mercenary's Links
Vigilantes are way less annoying than heroes. They're more morally pliable, too. And Goggles is great for weekends where he's not working. He just needs to make sure he's given plausible deniability when it comes to his regular work.
Raquel was one of the youngest ESI members, so he doesn't blame her for not holding much loyalty toward them. But it breaks his heart to see his "little sister" fighting alongside the heroes who destroyed his family.
Or maybe it just irks him that she's able to keep up with him. No. It's definitely heartbreak. Yep. Heartbreak over her wasted potential. For sure.
Oh, Firearm. If he can't give him a slow death, he can at least take up 44% of his mind at any given moment. Firearm took everything from him- the least Mercenary plans to do is return the favor, and then some, but in a fun, sexy way.
The bastard that took so much from him. His teammate, his time, his ... sanity. Firearm has spent so much energy on Mercenary that there was a time where he couldn't focus on anything else but revenge. Even after all their confrontations, he still wants nothing more than to kill Mercenary. If not just to avenge the Hero he killed all those years ago.
He sees people describe themselves as "feral" online all the time. They don't know what they're talking about. This guy is the closest thing he's seen to a feral person who's still capable of speech and basic math. He's a good shot with that fancy sniper rifle, though. Maybe he can convince him to try it himself...
"This freak. This weirdo. Where do the big bads find these guys? Seriously! You can't trust him to just stand there without fucking it up in the bloodiest way possible! Why do we keep getting paired for missions I sweAR TO GOD-"
Mercenary is his friend! :) He likes going on missions with him.
Shiny hair ....
He only knows him as "The Saint." He pays a lot of money and covers a lot of expenses for blackmail. What's some random guy want so much dirt about a decade-old raid for? Everyone involved is either in prison, dead, or went through brainwashing. Weird.
Vicente has always been efficient. He's done every job without fail. All except for killing Firearm, which he's constantly failed at, somehow. It's disappointing, but not surprising. If Mercenary didn't already have an extreme grudge against him, it might appear suspicious. Luckily, no one questions why Mercenary would try so consistently to kill him. Outside of his assassination missions, Mercenary is careless and sloppy. It was incredibly easy to find him, and if Trevino didn't constantly cover for him, Mercenary would have been found and arrested (or killed) years ago.
Syber's an old buddy in crime of his. Well... "old" as in "survived one and half years of on-and-off work with him", which is honestly kind of impressive! They have a secret handshake and meet-up spot and everything. Of the Crew, he feels most comfortable around Syber. Maybe it's because she's the only normal human... or maybe they just have a lot in common. Who knows. Point is, he'd do a lot of stuff for her if she asked.
Merc's pretty laid-back for a professional. It's fascinating watching how quickly he snaps from "silent weapon for hire" to "snarky gay art student" to "gushing heart-on-the-sleeve cat guy". If they hadn't met, she probably would have never given a thought to joining a crew. Maybe not everyone is a huge idiot.
