The early days of Carlos Spectre's history is unknown to the public.

From what is known about Carlos, he started at a very young age dealing with the occult. Even as a teenager, he took on odd jobs to handle ghosts or unnatural occurances in the small towns he lived in. He kept a nomadic lifestyle, moving around from town to town to settle their supernatural situations and handle anything else that arose. All this experience gathered up over the years, and he met tons of different personalities, human and occult alike. He gained new methods, teachings, perspectives, and so on the longer he worked with the occult.

After a long while being in the business, Carlos had gathered enough infamy in dealing with near-crisises to become known at the #1 paranormal investigator in the world. And with this title and suffecient connections under his belt, he went on to form SpectreCorps. The company had been a dream he'd had for a long while, hoping to bring together the best in the industry and create a proper balance where he can protect humans and the occult. Though rumors spread that not long after SC began a tragedy occured in Carlos's life, nothing was ever confirmed nor proof surfaced. As it is understood still, Carlos is a somewhat mysterious figure who doesn't share much of himself with the public.

Despite his reputation as a playboy investigator, Carlos is actually fairly antisocial. He has a crass way of speaking and typically is too blunt when speaking to people that don't really know him. One could say he's just naturally comfortable around people, but its really the opposite. He's so unused to meeting new people, or more so just dislikes doing so, that his natural personality comes out without him trying. Often, he puts others off when destroying the lurid playboy imagery they had for him. "Charming" is the farthest from truth with Carlos.

Though he struggles socially, Carlos is a caring person to a fault. His life is constantly put at the sacrafice for others, human or occult. He strives to make things easier on others, to help them through their problems, because he believes there's always a solution he can provide no matter how dire. This does lead him to be impulsive at times and very reckless, not really taking into account what could happen to him in the process of helping. Though he doesn't see this as a problem, quite a few of the people who know him do. Or at least will say so. It's also clear to a lot of people after meeting Carlos that he's missing something in his life. Chasing that feeling through alcohol, drugs, or reckless recreational activities is a common occurance for him. He struggles to properly take care of himself and if it weren't for those around him, its difficult to say where he'd be now.
