Grayson Black is the serious CTO of RomCon - a company founded together with Nick Rich from their shared apartment bedroom during their graduate school days. He used to be an item with Nick for a large part of their grad school days. However, Nick's family objected to their marriage due to Grayson's social standing and family background. After they threatened to cut him off, Nick was forced to put an end to his relationship with Grayson.
When Yu Junming enters the company as a ConCoct agent, Grayson catches Junming eating his prized ice cream. Angry at the new hire, Grayson leaves a terrifying impression on Junming. As Junming tries to apologize and impress Grayson, they form a rock relationship through notes stuck on the fridge.
Meanwhile, Nick's new idea for attracting more clientele and sponsorship has Grayson worried about the clients' privacy issues.
Background
Grayson was brought up by a single mother. She was a blue collar worker and slaved day and night for her son's education. Grayson is very protective of her and hates that she has been used as an excuse for Nick's family to threaten Nick. Since he graduated, he's made sure that his mother does not need to work anymore.
History
At the start of the novel, Grayson is shown to be a very capable CTO who often discusses ideas with Nick, the CEO. His history with Nick does not impede his work, although he does bury his emotions for the man.
Meanwhile, the new hire, Junming, has gotten on his nerves after daring to eat his prized ice cream. After Junming tries and fails to apologize correctly, Grayson grudgingly forgives him.
