Planet Dyna

Brief History of Terraformation
This planet was coded as EarthR-6734 during its human-led terraformation process. When Dyna was being terraformed, many separate groups of researchers were looking to create and refine efficient processes for mass-planetary-terraformations. The original purpose for developing these processes was to simply make other desolate planets become Earth-like and livable, since unfortunately, Earth was starting to become less and less Earthly.

That was the original plan, but eventually, when that their efficiency increased, a myriad of corporations will have realized that terraformation can be used to design planets to their whims. From the construction of each gain of soil, to the manipulated genes of flora and fauna. They could create anything from fantastical worlds with gen-modified creatures, to massive, seemingly endless cities full of wonders. Other than these immense undertakings, there are simpler planets. Some planets are used only to farm and preserve earthly--and not-so-earthly--beings and foliage for future planet terraformations. Some continue to bustle with life for thousands of years, while others can become abandoned by mankind, leaving behind a ghost planet of strange and/or possibly intelligent creatures.

Formation of Dyna
Dyna, or EarthR-6734, was one of the several ongoing terraformation projects as the Earth began to reject humankind. Dyna and the other projects under 6734 had a simple purpose, to be livable and to appear just as the Earth once did so many eons ago. Few of these beginning projects found much success, but Dyna was one of the few. Life was breathed into this sad husk of a planet; she is adorned with Earthly greens, wildly spirited creatures, covered in the sapphires of the seas, a daughter of the Earth.

Dyna of the Current Day
Alas, history often repeats itself. As the years went by, humanity once again proceeded to wipe out all that was given to them, and at ever increasing speeds. It became as a sped-up mirror image to the Earth's demise. Earth though, has since been able to devour all that was left behind by mankind, overtaking and drowning out every unnatural structure with her dirt and flora. On Dyna however, the metals conquer every edge of the world. Sealing off the grounds so tightly, that not even the most hopeful and mightiest of grasses could break through their metal panes. 99% of the wild creatures have been snuffed out by this never-ending expansion of cities. Not even a single body of water would survive being trampled through. As such, resources are few and far between for those who are not human.

At a glance
Dyna is beautiful to those who admire lively cities, advanced technologies, and abundant neon lights that shine like fireworks. The skies are often eerie reds and purples, but can occasionally shift into a variance of colors. Their barren planet's oxygen is generated by massive, skyscraper-sized buildings on each corner of the block. These fixtures are even more so generously decorated with complicated neon displays and commercialized holographics. Citizens, tourists and the Dyna-Droids of many kinds wander through the streets day and night; most often seeking out vendors, admiring entertainers, and observing the lightshows. While humans seek out thrills, the few remaining creatures creep away in the quieter, more abandoned sections of the city. Only hoping for their lives that they are not spotted, especially by Droids who would waste no time in disposing of them.

On the Surface

Resources
Since the thought of anything being produced on this planet is out of the question, all resources are received by interplanetary shipments. Theses resources are subsequently hoarded by humans & their merchants only. This leaves the very few other living beings on the planet to struggle for survival. Each of these beings are disregarded as pests and criminals to be exterminated. Securities are incredibly high, and their tactics are often very technologically inventive, devastatingly harsh, or both. Unfortunately for those who are struggling, they have few chances if they are without the smarts to break through high security codework, or lack the strength to vie with the lurking cybernetic shepherds.

Human-lifestyles
Dyna is populous and well visited by tourists from other planets. City cultures often depend on the wealth and chosen trade of each city. Each city often has a specific talent they foster and encourage; These talents could be anything from technological advancements, to food, sports, and other forms of entertainment. Many cities have loud, crowded streets full of elated passersby, adamantly searching for another sight to see. However, there are also quiet, desolate areas just a step away. Places so quiet, you would assume everyone within 5 miles is dead. In these stretches where the only noise you'll hear is the hums and buzzes of old breaking neons, there are a number of small businesses and collections of living quarters. As always, "pests" lurk in the shadows, but they are much more prominent in these locations of quiet.

The Dyna-Felis
There are very few lifeforms that were able to compete with humankind and survive on Dyna thus far, but felines have always been a step ahead of their extinction. As a result of Dyna's changing conditions, these creatures began to go through rather drastic evolutions. They became smarter, gained unnatural patterns, and began standing upright. It is unlikely that scientists contributed to any of these changes, but there is always a possibility of foul-play among them. Though, to be fair, creatures of their kind often evolve similarly on other planets as well, proven to be without intervention. Between them all, forms, features, and behaviors differ from the cousins that have evolved on other planets.

These Dyna-Felis became an ever more intelligent and dominantly bipedal species. Their colors are generally dull as they always have been, but now, they have minimal streaks of bright colors flowing through their fur and shining through their eyes. Is this to mimic neons of the city? Though very bright and colorful variations do exist, but they may not survive quite as long. These creatures must be evasive, thieving, and savvy to the technologies the cities rely on in order to have a fair chance at survival. Therefore, th e y

C̷o̷m̸m̶on Dyna-Droids, by Atelier-tronics (Ah-tell-e-a tron-ics)

Atelier-tronics
Atelier-tronics is proud to call ourselves the most reliable, successful, and well known providers of inventive & purposeful machinery! You will find our beautiful workmanship present on a number of planets. Our Dyna-Droids would never be mistaken for humans, nor would Dyna-Shepherds. This is not by mistake or technological inability. This is a conscious decision made by a myriad of designers and engineers, who wish to allow the beauty of coils, gears, and lights to be openly admired by the people.

Dyna-Droids
They have the forms of a humanoid, but they brim with the personality that only their lights, coils, and shining metals can pull off. Their purposes and builds come in a great variance. Domestic Androids often take charge of boring or strenuous work for their owners. City-owned Androids generally pace through the streets; some take charge of certain jobs, such as providing aid & entertainment to passing citizens and tourists. All machines are powered by a combination of solar + electric rechargeable batteries. Depending on the machine's main occupation, the number of visible solar panels will vary.

Dyna-Shepherds
Dyna-Shepherds are most frequently used as security systems by individuals and businesses. Even cities often use them to patrol the streets for perceived pests and known criminals. As such, all Shepherds--including domestic Shepherds--have permissions to access every security camera within their city limits. In addition, due to the vicious nature of criminals and vermin, Dyna-Shepherds are lawfully permitted to confiscate lives and incinerate remains of those it finds guilty of any crime. (DTLC: r. 87, sect. 125)

In the ever experimental spirit of technological advancement, Atelier-tronics accepts no liability for accidental losses of property or innocent life. This is in accordance with rule 87 sect. 136 of the Dyna-Tech Law Collective. There, the DTLC states;
Technological testing and/or misuse resulting in human injury or death is subject to legal review* for malicious intent of the individuals involved. Punishments include: monetary penalties. Companies and facilities will face no liability, so as not to hinder potential invention and creativity.

* Dead or alive, victims found to be involved in any form of criminal activities will have their reviews immediately suspended. Should they live, only they will face penalties.
In addition, non-human casualties--such as the frequently incurred fatalities enacted by pest-deterring Shepherds--are never subject to review.

Durability & Maintenance
Alas, some durability is sacrificed for appearence. Exposed coils can get caught and broken, gears can become stopped up, lights can burn out, and so forth. To make up for these imperfections, we've embeded a strong desire of self-preservation and the ability to repair oneself within the intelligence of our droids. If one finds themselves too broken down to repair themselves, they will return to us for maintenance. If they are too broken to even make it back to us, city Dyna-Shepherds will recover the pieces of their fallen colleagues so that we may attempt to put them back together.

While our Dyna-Shepherds still maintain a sense of self-preservation, the ones who work in security will have just as strong a drive to complete their tasks. They are willing to risk limbs and leave them behind to persue their targets. Because they must be in the line of primary so frequently, they are built to be easily repaired by our mechanics and Dyna-Droids. A lost limb is designed to disconnect in such a clean way, that it shall be replacable without much difficulty. Either way, a Shepherd will only consider abandoning their target when any of their computing components sustain damage. In this event, if they remain intact for long enough, they will send out a ping to any other androids near by. This ping a call for help, used either for repairs or for another android's aid to pursue a fleeting target.

Ruby-Blare Ave.

You find yourself passing through a deathly quiet street. The structures abandoned, forgotten and broken down. It is lit with faint, unkempt ruby-red lights; of which are a mix of fluorescents, neons, and many an exploded bulb. Wading through the silence, the hum of what is left glowing, and the occasional series of strange beeps and tones. They seem to repeat every so often. These sounds are familiar to what you've heard on other streets, but they are only ever noticeable when you can find a street devoid of any bustle. But here, they were louder than any of these other desolate streets. Still not 'cause for alarm' loud, but more noticeable than they have ever been. They became louder and louder as you walked towards an underground entrance to a subway station. You serve it a passing glance, alas, it simply appears pitch black inside. But the beeps and tones, they are louder than they have ever been. Could it just be the abandoned machinery crying out for maintenance?

Should you decide to step down the cracked stairs and into the darkness, you then bring out your lame little flashlight. It is not strong enough to find a surface to bounce off of.

Though it is really difficult to tell, it seems that the architecture has been modified. You cannot tell the exact shape of the room, but it feels like so much has been blocked off. Certainly, there are no trains coming through here. You get farther and farther from where you entered, and the darkness begins to feel immensely claustrophobic. But as you to turn around to leave, on your right, you see a little blue light blinking in the not-so-far distance. As you come closer, beneath it, you can see the very faint glow of a keypad with 12 buttons.

And there you stood, hopelessly entering random numbers on the strange little keypad. Maybe it was just some lock to get into a stupid, broken-down maintenance area. You turn around and proceed to leave, no longer thinking much of it.
