BACKSTORY

Born into a big farming family, Rue was the oldest of seven siblings, taking on the role of a third parent. They weren’t wealthy, constantly trying to find ways to save the pennies. Nutrition wasn't great, probably why she turned out physically small. Farming was hard work and didn’t leave time for much of an education. Her parents tried their best to homeschool for the first year, and then sent her off for a few years to school, but eventually she dropped out and came back to help look after the children and earn money.

She refined her agility by catching prey out in the nearby woods and chasing younger siblings when they ran off. She got used to grappling unruly kids and dragging them back to the house when it was hometime. All her siblings had cat-like traits to some degree, but she was the best one of them all, athletic-wise. She rarely complained and accepted this role as her place in life. She did love all her siblings regardless of the mischief they would get up everyday.

Her parents sent her off to put her physical skills to use in the military as soon as she was old enough. This allowed her to get some education through the military, though she was always a bit behind. A lot of any money she earned was sent back to her family to help pay for food and hopefully even save up for her sibling’s education one day.

She joined Sigma as a stealth soldier/infiltrator in an attempt to earn more income using the skills she had, having not had much academic education. Her upbringing physically prepared for Sigma life, but it did not mentally prepare her. Handling 9 unruly screaming kids is different to handling screaming colleagues with limbs torn off and heads exploding. She has now unconsciously somewhat reverted to a child-like state to help cope with the stress and trauma from her operative work. She says little, expresses little, but is an obedient soldier.
