Mariner ◇

Ever since Mariner was young, she was bullied for being different than everybody else. Her interests were different, the way she acted was different, etc. The adults in her life did nothing to help her, and she had no friends growing up. When she was older, maybe late teens to early 20's, she was sent to a mental hospital by God, where she was constantly psychologically abused. Mariner met Bloody Panda in this facility, and they bonded over their forced imprisonment. Over time, they started developing feelings for each other, often flirting but they never actually ended up dating.

Meeting Shoko

When Mariner was let out, she was in her late 30's. Bloody Panda had realized that she was unhealthily obsessed with Mariner, and decided to cut things off. Mariner was distraught, but she understood and let her go. Mariner was lost, and she didn't know where else to go. But, a miracle happened. Mariner met Shoko. Mariner was just hanging out in a bar one night, and they started talking. They became friends after a while. She was the only person Mariner had in her life at the time. Shoko was the only one who treated Mariner like a person. After a hookup they had, Mariner knew she loved her. And so she met the rest of Shoko's poly, and they all started dating.
