Parasite Voids: Extras (Momiji Chihaya)

Momiji appears to be like the average millennial: independent, quiet, and doing their own thing. However, deep down is a person who has one interest and one interest alone: history. Their father was a kabuki performer and the only person they could talk to comfortably, and because of it, Momiji was influenced to research history about not only their home country, but internationally as well. Though they might have a deadpan face combined with their selective mutism, they secretly are very easy to light up when mentioning anything that they value, even feeling comfortable to speak. They love traditional holidays and events the most such as Children's Day and Hatsumode, but mostly because they're very fixated on the decorations used during those holidays and also loves touching them a lot for a sense of stimulation. The food is also an added bonus, they'll tear it up in 5 seconds. They also love critically analyzing history, and despises people that blindly idolize it. so they hate the government alot lmfaooo. They also hate those who take advantage of people who blindly idolize and romanticize history, especially for tourist trapping. Them and their father moved out of the Tokyo Metropolis (their birthplace) because of how it was becoming an epidemic there and went to Kanzakai instead. They want authentic experiences and try to give those at the cafe exactly that during any events they have.

They also love researching natural disasters around the world, all math specifics included. If college wasn't financially taxing for them and their father, they would have gotten into seismology. They are incredibly tech savvy, barely second to only Kanon in the cafe. They have an entire earthquake tracker set up at home on one of their monitors, and it makes...an overwhelming amount of noise that Momiji shrugs off and is not bothered by. theyre a loud noise autist i see. They love their father and forever thanks him for indirectly giving them a hobby that makes them everything but bored and understimulated. They are upset that people of his trade are paid so little nowadays. They joined the cafe because of it and their father growing ill, and also because the decorations were very pretty to them. Takumi, one of the workers, tends to cheer them up by wearing kumadori make-up to remind them that their help will pay off back at home.
