About

It's difficult to determine much about Convexity; she's an enigma to the science of Sornieth in just about every way. Not even her origins are clear; she simply appeared in an empty Mountainhome room one day, with its lamp shining blue all of a sudden, and with her acting as though she had always known the clan- even though this was the first time the Amitolans had ever seen her. Her endless peculiarities just kept piling on from there, and she's a source of constant confusion and curiosity for the Amitolans. Convexity rarely speaks, yet seems to be highly intelligent and wise regarding things that many Arcane dragons still study today. She isn't one to share her seemingly boundless knowledge, but it certainly comes in handy to defend the lair from any threats in the Starfall Isles, be they old or new.

The closest thing anyone could compare Convexity to is a "glitch in the matrix". It's unclear whether she's an entirely non-draconic entity improperly manifesting in Sornieth's dimension, or a dragon that somehow got stuck in between two dimensions- but either way, she is constantly out of step with reality, and undergoing a perpetual disconnection from the "home" dimension of Sornieth. Her body seemingly "wants" to slide entirely into the neighboring dimension, destabilizing in a glitch-like manner as this happens, but contact with and absorption of Water magic keeps her form anchored in the home dimension, and keeps her stable.

If not provided with a constant source of water magic, she will slip into the neighbor dimension over the course of a few days, and the process is not exactly pleasant for her. Fortunately, her mate Portal Strike has found a solution for this in the form of the dimensional anchor she wears around her neck. Made of a steel alloy and fitted with three amethyst jewels, the jewels serve as a sort of magical battery, holding potent water magic in them and keeping her anchored. They need to be recharged roughly every month or so.

Her blue and purple scales are constantly phasing in and out in crack-like patterns across her body, revealing a bright, glowing opal-like surface beneath. According to her, these are the parts of her body currently resting in the neighbor dimension, and are not solid- a dragon could stick their paw right through them, and she mentions a "buzzing" sensation in that patch when anything phases through her. They glow a deep pattern of blue and pink, and glimmer with streaks and sparkles not unlike stars and comets.

After the Tidelord incident and her restabilization by Portal, Convexity has been markedly more softhearted and friendly than she used to be, spending her time actually socializing for once instead of holing up in her room muttering about interspacial timey-wimey stuff. You don't know what you've got until it's gone, as they say.

Art Note: Other than a patch around her right eye, Convexity's opal patches can be anywhere on her body! They're always changing position.
