“... do you know what a horse devour is?”

Oliver blinked, completely lost on the wording. “...excuse me?"

Ernie opened his mouth to repeat himself, then stopped. He looked over the menu for a second, squinting at the word in front of him, then closed it. Resigned, he handed the paper sheet to his date, finger-pointing at this unpronounceable word. Oliver snorted.

“Hors d'œuvre?”

With a deep sigh, Ernie melted onto the bench they were both waiting on. He wasn’t even going to attempt to pronounce that. “That’s French, isn’t it?”
