Til and Vergil’s oldest kiddo. You can tell she takes after her daddy, to an almost scary degree sometimes. Even when she was little, those baby blue eyes looked like they could pierce straight through your soul.

She’s a serious kid. After the whole trouble with Mundus dragging himself out of the Underworld to uproot Sparda’s family tree (and getting dealt with definitively by Daddy Vergil and Uncle Dante) she threw herself into honing her skills to absolute perfection. Even at that tender young age, she really felt the sting of not being able to protect her mama and sister.

Despite only being the second oldest, Rose carries herself like an eldest sibling. She's taken on more responsibility than most would, and at a younger age. She was only sixteen when she started tagging along with her daddy on jobs, though he wasn't about to let her go solo. At eighteen, on one of these jobs, she tapped into her Devil Trigger for the first time. Separated from Vergil and Nero, outnumbered and overwhelmed, things looked grim until she made the crazy choice to impale herself on her weapon to purposefully ignite that dormant power.

Nero was the one who found her, bloody and passed out in a pile of corpses, and brought her home. Gave Til and Vergil the scare of a lifetime, lemme tell you. Still, after that, Vergil started trusting her more, treating her like more of a grown-up.

On one of his devil hunter outings, Vergil defeated a demon named Shuraba and took its soul as a devil arm. Then, he brought that to me, along with a shard of Yamato that didn’t get reunited with the blade when Nero resurrected it, and asked me to make something special for his baby girl, Rose. Okay, more like “demanded”. That guy don’t ask nicely.

So I tweaked the sword a little and juiced it up with that bit of Yamato’s power. It still doesn’t come close to the raw power of the original, but even a shade of that legendary weapon is a force to be reckoned with. It can cut through damn near anything, just no slicing portals through time and space.

Rose learned her daddy’s Iaido style, but she has a few tricks of her own, wielding her sword like a fencer’s rapier at times.

When Rose fell on Shuraba, the shard of Yamato I fused into the blade cut loose a piece of her soul. Now, she can call that part of herself to fight by her side, just like her daddy and his doppelganger.

Doesn't seem like there's any real detriment, fortunately. Aside from just having a loose chunk of demonic power rattling around in her soul, it looks to be harmless. For her, anyway. Bet the demons she filets feel different.
