Appearance

Peter is a Canguis; a canine-like species with serpentine attributes and the ability to turn to a human. In his Feral form he has the body of a Coyote with a Diamondback Rattlesnake's tail and fangs. His eyes are a brilliant gold and his long tongue is black and forked. He's about the average height of a normal coyote, but his long reptillian tail makes him much longer.

As a human, Peter's got the appearance of a middle-aged man. His short hair is greying and he's almost always got some kind of stuble on his chin and jaw. He's pretty tall: around 6'3", and his eyes retain the same bright gold as his Canguis form. He, like all other Cangui, has the ability to half-shift between his Feral and human form. When he does this, his canines grow to become fangs and his tail and ears become apparent.

Personality

Peter is upbeat and confident, coasting through life without any worries. Despite this, he's still a very hard worker and always raring to work for what he wants. He likes to talk himself out of his problems, which is good, since he's a big troublemaker.

Backstory

Young Peter was raised in Utah by his mom. His father had apparently died when he was just a baby, so he has no memory of him other than what his mother's told him. His mom was not a Canguis like him, and without anyone to tell her how to raise him properly, she decided to take him far from civilization and raise him on a farm they could work together. She bought an old piece of land and cultivated it all on her own, growing food and taking care of animals with the occassional help from her son.

He grew up happy and sheltered, but of course, he yearned for an adventurous life in the old west. When he turned 19 he decided it was time for him to set out on his own. His mother bought him an old, musty cowboy hat from the closest town and gave it to him right when he parted, and after a tearful goodbye he was off. He's spent his whole life since exploring and adventuring all over the united states, but he always comes back to his mom when he's in the area to check up on her and help her around the house.

Abilities

Pete's got the normal Canguis traits (venom and shift), and a few learned skills. He's very good at picking locks and other things that require finess with his hands (card tricks, slight of hand, etc). Peter's pretty skilled at horseback riding, be it bareback or with a saddle, too!

When it comes to weapons, Peter prefers non-lethal methods and self defense, but he's actually a really good shot with a revolver. As stated, though, he prefers it be non-lethal, when he gets into a confrontation, so he trained himself to use a lasso to restrain folks and he's skilled in unarmed combat.

Though this isn't neccessarily an ability: Peter is very, very lucky. He can do almost anything as long as he's confident it'll work out for him, which, most of the time he is. It's odd, and probably 100% complete circumstance, but whenever he's not wearing his hat all his past luck seems to go out the window. Totally unrelated, though. Just coincidence, yeah. Absolutely.
