| ~Personallity~ Rusty is harmless and lives in the moment, due to his injuries. He is often unable to recall things he just did and despite him usually being happy and chipper, if he notices he has forgotten something or that he has done something others could consider as stupid, it will easily pull him into sadness. He is usually shy and holds back from talking with others and hides most of his face due to him being told once that his smile is scary to others. However, once he truely starts to get along with a person, he will open up and tell them a lot, never putting a filter on emotions or things he says. He uses notes to get around in life more easily, since they can remind him of things and most of all, he tries his very best to be useful. Despite him being scared of Jess and disagreeing with her on some things, he still treasures her, as she was the one who not only saved him, but takes care of him when no one else is willing to. | ~History~ Rusty was born and lived a good portion of his life in a village in Red Canyon and was always known as a smart and witty kid, that could easily scrap together things and make something useful from that. Most noticed his shade of fur being different and suspect that he is a mixed breed, but no one is fully sure. After the village was raided and he was one of the survivors, he joined with Xander into the Jackal Squad and supported them by coming up with weapons at first, later giving them advantages with his skills to build pretty much anything out of junk. He always was one to stay in the shadows however, being humble and happy to just help out. He wasn't truely friends with anyone, but he also didn't mind. After the incident that killed the Squad, merely Jess and him survived. While Jess got away with a few bruises, Rusty was heavily injured, both physically and mentally. He ended up losing half of his tail and his right arm, along with several cuts that all turned into scars. Most of all, his handicap on the mental side makes him easily forget things and often has him overwhelmed with situations. His speech also began to sound erratic and he often has trouble forming proper sentences. For the most part, he is dependant on Jess now, who takes most care of him, though he tries his best to be the "old" self that she tells him about, but that he simply can not remember. |
Relationships:
[Friend/Girlfriend] Rusty got to know Juliet over her being a prisoner in Jess's Camp, oddly enough. However, he treasured how kind she was to him and they soon became friends, only to later fall in love and even have a child together. He loves how she has just as much positivty as he does, as well as how she just treats him like a normal person. [Friend/Former Squad-mate] Jess and Rusty share quite some history with each other, both being a part of the Jackal Squad. Jess always seemed to have quite a fondness towards him, but he never found the same feelings for her. After the accident, even he noticed how her attitude towards him changed. He still sees her as a friend however. | [Future Daugther] Rustys daughter with Juliet, that he has in the future. He loves his daughter a lot and proves himself to be a pretty great father to her as well. While he might not have the mental capability to truely raise her, she still learns a lot of valuable lessons from him. [Former Boss/Friend] Rusty and Xander get along surprisingly well, even after his accident. Rusty looks up to him and usually isn't all too aware of this whole "He was evil and tried to kill everyone" phase his boss once had. |
