Summary

Victor was born in Bataan and was often brought to church by his family. He wasn't very social and preferred spending time with his family and relatives instead of his schoolmates and churchmates. In Grade 2, he made a witty comment about his classmate, Jason, making fun of him for only playing volleyball and being uninterested in other sports. Jason heard him and soon the two of them started bickering, becoming frenemies. Victor was surprised to know that he was churchmates with Jason as well, but instead of being cordial, he and Jason interacted the same and their families found their bickering cute, assuming they're friends. One day, Victor and Jason were told by one of their teachers in church to arrange the seats in a small room.

They were arguing like normal, but when Jason pointed at something with his lips, Victor immediately kissed him. After a few seconds of silence, they argued again and Victor kept saying he misunderstood when in reality, he took it as a chance. After church services, Jason brought Victor somewhere private and asked him if they could kiss again. Victor was flustered and tried to make up excuses, but Jason reminded him that he was the one who took his first kiss. Victor didn't say anything and instead shared his second kiss with Jason once again in church.

Time passed by and the two of them acted like the usual and never brought up the kisses again. Victor later moved to Canada as his parents wanted better job opportunities to support the family, so Victor left without saying goodbye to Jason. On his flight to Canada, he felt regretful not adding Jason in social media, but he was scared of getting rejected as the two often said they're not friends. He was worried if that's what Jason really felt, so he never tried to reach him out again. Part of him wishes he and Jason could have move together, but he later dismissed the thought, feeling stupid for even thinking of it.

Victor felt incredibly lonely even up to university. Even though he's met people in a similar situation as him and became friends, a part of Victor felt empty, until he met a familiar face. Victor met Jason once again and felt awkward, since it's been so long since they've seen each other and they've grown up. Looking at him again, Victor realized that Jason was his first love. Victor was lucky to know that his friends are also friends with Jason's friends, so the two met each other often in their hangouts and finally, Victor started a conversation with Jason, asking him how life has been for him lately.

The conversation was calm and friendly, until Jason brought up their first kiss. Victor got flustered and once again denied that he kissed him on purpose, and the two bickered again like the past. Later, Jason asked for Victor's contact info and the two finally stayed in touch with each other. They bickered over and over again but unlike the past, the two were a bit more honest with each other. Talking and hanging out with Jason again made Victor realize he's falling for him all over again, and he started flirting with Jason as a "joke". Jason returned the favor and at some point, Victor couldn't handle it anymore and told Jason that at this point, they should start dating. Surprisingly, Jason agreed.

Dating each other helped them be more honest with each other, with Victor finally admitting that he actually took his chance to kiss Jason. The two still tried to hide their relationship as they both grew up with conservative families and aren't ready to come out of the closet. However, one time Victor kissed Jason on the forehead and his grandmother caught them. His grandmother was angry, but not for the reason Victor expected. She was upset that Victor didn't tell her he has a boyfriend, and even invited Jason to dinner. Victor was living with his grandmother at this point since her house was closer to his university. His grandmother got to know Jason and she even told Jason to stay over for the night. Victor felt embarrassed when his grandmother was sharing stories of his childhood, but felt relieved to know that his grandmother didn't treat him any differently, since his family's conservative views affected him since childhood and made him feel scared.
