Katsuyuki

Katsuyuki is the oldest brother to Shige.

Ever since he was young, Katsuyuki was always the most energetic of his brothers. Despite being looked down upon, and even bullied by others because of his birth day being a bad omen, he would keep a smile on his face to make sure his little brothers didn't have any worries about him.
After leaving home, he traveled south to become a shinobi to a larger clan in the south, since it was far away and no one there would know him or think badly of him. It was his chance for a fresh start somewhere new. There, he gave himself the name Katsuyuki, and worked to make himself physically strong, in order to always be capable of protecting others.
While growing up away from his family for many years, and still battling with the effects of his childhood experiences, Katsuyuki became apathetic to life itself, and would get himself into troubling situations without thinking much of the consequences.

Katsuyuki is observant just like Shige, but unlike his brother, he also has the ability to read a situation fairly well. This makes teasing others very easy for him, but it also means those he knows well won't have to say what they're thinking in order for him to understand them.
He can be too straightforward sometimes with the things he says or does, and tends to enter others' personal spaces, but never to go as far as making them seriously uncomfortable. He loves to tease.
Even as an adult, he still holds that childlike energy he used to have, even more so when he's away from his missions (but in general can be perceived as a kind of... idiot, you could say, because of his childlike behavior and way of thinking sometimes). Although he does know exactly when he needs to be serious.

Katsuyuki carries a single tanto of his own, as well as the wakizashi that once belonged to Shige.
