As the eldest Michael is seen as a pillar, someone to look up to and depend and who is always there when you need him with a helping hand at the ready. Someone who is never afraid, who never doubts, and always knows what to do.
He puts a lot of pressure on himself to be that person. Constantly trying to problem solve in advance, worrying about the what-ifs, and keeping those he loves away from any kind of harm, leading him to be a bit of a people pleaser and putting other wants before his needs.
He often feels like he needs to be in control of every situation and can get easily frustrated and stressed when people don't listen to him. He puts a lot of his self worth into his ability to protect the people he loves and the things he can do for them. As he has never learnt other practical life skills he feels very underquipped, burdensome, and useless when people wont let him look after them the ways he knows how.
Despite finding it easy to give advice and to make decisions relating to others, he has a bad case of choice paralysis when it comes to himself and can quickly work himself up over it, something that frustrates him endlessly.

Michael and Raphael plan to start their own investigation, concerned about what is happening and how fast everything is progressing and what it could mean.
But before they could get started Raphael finds out about the other three and reports it to Michael who decides to approach them and ask to join forces.
It's... Awkward at first. But they all ultimately have the same goal and working together benefits them all.
While journeying they end up getting into all sorts of chaotic nonsense and grow closer for it. The five all learn to lean on one another, they're each others home.
While investigating an abandoned hospital Jack is caught off guard by a creature known as The Glade... And ends up dying to it. By Raphael's suggestion the other four use pieces of themselves to put him back together and bring him back to life.
For a while after the revival Michael is running damage control, making sure they're all up and functioning, keeping things running and taking control of the situation.
