Background
Nick was raised partially schooled, partially homeschooled in a small village called Glogue in Wales. He left education at 17 to work at a saw mill, then went back into college two years later to study woodwork and clockmaking. He ultimately chose the clockmaking path and now makes watches for a living.
He was in the local library one day when he found a book about watchmaking. He checked it out and later found a folded piece of paper between the pages. On this paper were intructions about how to build a time travel watch, which he did, and was surprised to find it worked. And slightly annoyed because he ended up in the middle of a clan skirmish in medieval times.
Since then he's made enough money for a comfortable life in the flat above his little shop. On the side he works ferrying people back and forth through time.
It isn't all fun. He's often been caught up in dangerous situations that have almost got him killed. Many a Roman battle, futuristic revolutions and near car crashes being some of those.
However, despite these dangers, who still travels to see what the world has to offer and to sometimes to simply awe the people around him. Such as his father, who was a Doctor Who fan and died before much of the reboot was made. Nick bought all of the future series and took them back in time for his dad to watch. And may even have once took him to the future.
He met Flitt Inger a few times while he was away from his usual part of the country. The third time she broke down and told him what had happened to her, whereupon he took her under his care until she could find help and somewhere to live.
