Owen is technically a dimenller by association. He is Oliver's secret power that manifests from his hat. Unfortunately for him but fortunately for everyone else he's trapped in Oliver's mind until further notice. It's unimaginably annoying to want to cause havoc without control of his body.

About

He doesn't exist without the hat, but the hat can't function without him; a curse.

From nowhere to Battle

The first time Owen materialised into the world, both he and Oliver were young and inexperienced. He felt like a free soul, able to roam anywhere he wanted! Oliver's childhood friends were amazed, at first, but as he growled at them from excitement, they took a good few steps back.

At that point Oliver knew his alter ego could be dangerous. When the War of All Things broke out years later, Owen was just biting time trapped in this hateful body. However, something had changed within Oliver, which made him give over control under 1 condition: as long as Owen doesn't hurt his wife, Lara, he can get "as animalistic as possible" to anyone else, for the war's sake. This is when the monster truly shined, clawing and thrashing enemies left and right, bloodying the other's clothes and hands in the process. It was invigorating, exciting and very VERY fun.

Even Owen doesn't remember how she died, his memories from that time are blurry. Oliver blames him for her passing and him for her quitting life by giving her item - their wedding ring - over to them. After that Oliver fled the battlefield with his tail between his legs, robbing the opportunity for Owen to show up for longer. Having already drawn first blood, the monster couldn't stop thinking about the betrayal, the unifinished business he'd left in OO-0000. So, with his little influence, he made sure to turn Oliver's life into hell. Teasing, blaming and gnawing at him from his mind, he did all he could to tick him off just right in order to take over control once again.

JH-1007: war hero turned fisherman

Their collective minds were a battlefield no matter where Oliver went to escape. He settled in JH-1007, working as a ferryman in the Baltic sea. Catching fish and transferring people from shore to shore was how he'd chosen to survive? How plebian. Where's the thrill in that? Even when they got tangled in some criminal organisation's affairs about some traitor, Oliver chose to take the matter discreetly. Disgraceful! Owen tried his usual tricks to get Oliver to trip, but even he knew these attempts of his were getting stale.

A little girl flashed through their thoughts; the lot of them had never seen her before. It was strange and it certainly caught Oliver off, which earned Owen the opportunity to rattle him a little more meaningfully, albeit a little spooked himself. He never thought that very same girl would show up on a boat next to some seasick “professor” with vitiligo.

They were both dimenllers, Owen could sniff it off of them. And that girl showing up must be linked to her item power. Following them back to whenever Gordon and Timothy came from would be a great one-in-a-lifetime-chance for Oliver to finally break and let him out for good! That's one of the reasons why the human-looking dimenller was so apprehensive to join them in OO-0000. He didn’t want anyone there finding out his secret, at least not this soon... Not to worry boy, the monster will show whenever he wants to and you have no say over it.

Fun Facts!

  • His favourite colour is orange.
  • He loves murder :)
  • I wonder if he hadn't been used for war if he'd still like murder. Feels like that's the only thing he's gotten to know.
  • Boy wants out let him play with the mortals--
  • His preferred weapons are knives and his claws of course.
  • He can be accidentally witty sometimes, but his charm lies in his fists for the most parts.
  • Unlike Oliver, he's gay. He doesn't share or take part in any of Oliver's relationships, including Lara.
  • The clothes he wears are the same Oliver would have worn prior to his transformation. However, he is a bit bulkier, so the clothes are smaller on him.
  • He's in a strange state of being something solely created by Oliver's item - his hat - and being independent of Oliver thought-wise. He originally was just part of Oliver's bio until I decided to make him a separate character. It's difficult for me to categorise him as a separate being, even if in some AUs he is completely independent of Oliver.
  • Initially unbeknownst to the team, he owns two items:
    • Oliver's wife’s ring instantly lightens the atmosphere and makes everyone think more positively.
    • His hat turns him into a monster for random intervals. In Owen's hands, he gives over his influence to Oliver.
  • Owen can technically use both items - not that he does. since they are typically to his disadvantage. Using the hat would turn him back into Oliver.

Oliver  [ alter ego ]

Oliver is a real jerk. He keeps calling Owen a "monster" and keeps dehumanising him, treating him like a beast in a cage. It's not like Owen wished it to be that way. He enjoys drawing blood because he always fronted when Oliver was in danger or at war. It's the only thing he knows. Plus, it's really damn annoying to share a body with this sad sack of a dimenller.

Lara  [ Oliver's wife ]

To Oliver, she's the love of his life. To Owen? She's a detractor. She always said she loved Oliver for "all that he was", but she never saw him as an individual. She even used her ring's power to force him to step down and give Oliver "his body back". He has no care for her wellbeing and might even be happy she's dead. It's not like Oliver can use her ring while Owen's in charge. >:3

Gordon  [ fascinating kid ]

These kids are a handful and even though pure logic should deter him from talking to her, he finds her interesting. She's the only one who had no clue she was a dimenller and has general amnesia about the events from the War of All Things, lest assured her memories are hiding something from her. He'd love to talk to her, even if Oliver tries his best not to let them meet.

Timothy  [ invasive kid ]

Timothy is one of those inventor types. He's always locked up in his room, doing "upgrades". He has unknowingly worked on him through Oliver's hat to add some tracking device or something. That was more than uncomfortable and way annoying. Owen would like to maul his face off some time. Maybe Oliver shouldn't let the two of them meet in the flesh.

Matthew  [ overactive kid ]

Now THAT's a trickster he can get behind! Matthew! He's a bit too tame for his tastes, but at least he's trying to get under people's skin. He's also got strong suspicions on Oliver which might lead into a confrontation which miiight lead into Owen finally getting the chance to TAKE OVER!

Beth  [ boring kid ]

She only cares about one thing: Gordon. That makes her boring from the start. Caring about people is the reason why you cry when they're killed. Sure, if Owen were to kill off everyone from this group he'd definitely start with Gordon just to piss Beth off, but he knows fighting her won't be any fun anyway. Sand manipulation sucks ass.

Ryan  [ fish ]

Fish?? FISH?! He knows how to catch fish!! Besides... FISH TASTY! Ryan is one of those half & halfs like Timothy is, but they are generally very quiet and vaguely memorable: except for the fact that they're a fish person. Would Owen rip them apart to shreds to make sushi? Absolutely. Even if they run fast they can't outrun this caracal monster forever...
