Bey doesn't know much about their origins, just that various creatures (and even some curious humans) have always tried hunting them for their tail, nibbling at it and trying to eat it. Even if it would always regenerate the bits that were gone, she was always scared and freaked out by their actions. Why were they cursed with this body and its weird tail with its odd texture, bubbles, and drips, they thought for the longest time? However, it wasn't until stumbling across the remains of picnic in the woods that they found these pastries that resembled their tail, and began to realize what it was...

Learning that their tail could generate ingredients like dough and frosting, Bey began to learn more about the art of making donuts, which seemed to come to them naturally. They began offering their homemade donuts up to get others off their back, and discovered some happened to have notable effects on those who ate them, if they chose...depending on the type of donut, flavor, and more, her pastries could energize a person, make them them giddy, or even transform them, among other things. Finally having honed their skills and having grown into a figure they felt more confident, massive, and powerful in, Bey felt it was time to show off their skills to the world.

Having crafted their own little movable pop-up shop - as in, a Baba Yaga-style hut with legs that's bigger on the inside, rumored to be made of materials they somehow nicked from a certain witch - Bey tried their luck at their own little shop, but their lack of social skills got in the way. Up until a peppy deerfox named Maki came along, who happened to have similar coffee-based powers. After falling in love and realizing how they perfectly worked together, the two began a more successful pop-up cafe dealing in coffee and donuts, testing their concoctions on various travelers, and sometimes having mischievous fun with it (or mainly having mischievous fun, depending on who you ask).

- Bey's design was inspired by beavertails, the Canadian version of elephant ears (with a titular chain specializing in them). Bey herself is Canadian, or at least her world's equivalent of it.

- The toppings, patterns, and texture of their tail in regards to things like dough "bubbles" can vary, though what's here in their original design is typically the default. Still, feel free to use whatever works for you when drawing them. One thing of note is that any frosting "drips" never actually fall off, oddly enough.

- In contrast to Maki, Bey has a more laid-back and calm personality, being rather snarky at times. While they have no problem hanging out with friends, their ideal night is spent at home, chilling and playing video games or watching movies with friends. Their hut happens to have a living space in the back, TARDIS-style.

- She stands around seven feet in height, give or take a few inches.

- She can be drawn with or without clothes, but typically wears them when in a more modern or urban setting. Typically just wears shorts or jeans and a tube top or stretched-out spaghetti strap tank top, mainly with colorful graphics on them, like from certain indie games they love. They can also wear sneakers at times, though Bey likes keeping their claws exposed.

- Bey and Maki have the shipping name of "Coffee and Donuts," and are typically called that by their friends when referring to the two of them together, typically just as a cute nickname.

- Much like Maki, Bey considers their work art, a puts a lot into both taste and presentation. In their case, though, they consider both elegant toppings & a more messy "food porn" approach equally artful in their own ways.

- Bey's name is a play on "beignet."
