The adopted daughter of Matra, Maki has learned the ways of coffee-related magic from her mother, learning how to brew java that can enchant people in various ways depending on their order, ranging from massive energy boosts to decaffeinated snoozes, and even special transformative tricks, all depending on the blend, strength, flavor, or even theme of the drink. Heck, Maki's fur (mainly the darker parts) can even generate bits of various coffee grounds as well, which can be used for even more potent concoctions as well, or even sprinkled throughout the air in order to create a bit of an enchanted field.
Maki has been a rather impish trickster ever since a young age, with the natural athletic skills coming from being what's best described as a "deerfox" allowing them to swiftly and silently move around. Ever since they were young, they loved climbing up into trees and sprinkling some enchanted bits of grounds onto unsuspecting travelers, gleefully watching a bit of chaos play our afterwards. Come to think of it, they still love doing that at times. But when working in their mother's coffee house in the forest, they remain as professional as possible, while sill letting their cheerful self entertain anyone if needed.
Now though, as a young adult, Maki has been venturing out into the woods more and more, looking for new friends and experiences. And when they found a female beaver by the name of Bey who happened to have similar powers and skills, except with donuts, they realized this was meant to be. The two fell in love after learning about their various interests and the way they compliment each other, and Maki joined up with Bey and her pop-up shop to begin selling their various treats to anyone who comes across them...and using their skills to have some fun with various customers along the way, of course.
- As expected, Maki has a rather perky, peppy personality. She's always excited to try new things and meet new people, and tends to be the more charismatic one who bring people of to their shop.
- She stands around five feet in height, give or take a few inches.
- Maki has developed a little bit of pudge over the years. A mother and girlfriend who both specialize in crafting sweets can do that to you.
- Maki does go back to work at her mom's hop on frequent occasions as well. Matra worries a bit about Bey leading them into dangerous scenarios as times due to their mischievous antics, and Maki knows she worries, so she likes to reassure her about their safety.
- She can be drawn with or without clothes, but typically wears them when in a more modern or urban setting. Typically just wears a slightly dark skirt (a bit maid-like, a memento from their mom's cafe) and a dark top, typically a tank top or t-shirt, preferring to keep their midriff exposed. They tend not to wear shoes, though, what with the hooves and all.
- Maki and Bey have the shipping name of "Coffee and Donuts," and are typically called that by their friends when referring to the two of them together, typically just as a cute nickname.
- Much like Bey, Maki considers their work art, a puts a lot into both taste and presentation. She can be an absolute whiz at areas like foam art.
- Maki's name is a play on "macchiato."
