SELENE
ABOUT
Selene is the Heavenly Beast of the Moon. She is a sweet and motherly creature. She cares for all living things, but is most interested in humans. While Heaven's gate was open, she lived in Heaven and visited humans through the Dreamspace. However, when Heaven's gate closed and she and the other Beasts were cast out, she was forced to hide in the Dreamspace to avoid the other Beasts. Over the years she has become very lonely, and very stubborn. Every once in a while, she will become passive aggressive, snippy, or argumentative. Her empathetic nature has become strained and she sometimes struggles to understand or sympathize with those who have different views or morals. As much as she tries to hide these new sides of herself, they still slip out and even startle her.

BACKGROUND
Background
Selene was one of the first Heavenly Beasts. She lived in Heaven and watched over humans, interacting with them only through their dreams. She had two sons with Soren, the Heavenly Beast of the Sun, and named them Providence and Comet. She raised their sons by herself, as Soren wanted very little to do with them, and passed along her love of the earth to them. Their first son, Providence, was placed on earth, this caused her to become distressed, as she no longer could communicate with or take care of him. When Comet was born, she refused to let him leave Heaven, but eventually did when he pestered her to let him explore earth. However, when Comet returened to Heaven, he was dead. Selene suffered through not only the loss of one son, but then watching another be tried for the other's death then kicked from Heaven. She blames Soren for most of what happened and refused to speak or be near him until he forced her to leave Heaven with him when the rest of the Beasts were finally banished.
Upon reaching earth, Selene and Soren were reunited with their son Providence. Providence killed Soren and chased Selene into the Dreamspace, threatening to kill her as well. Selene is only vaguely aware of Providence's plans for revenge. She wants to reconnect with him and fix their relationship. However, she is afraid of going alone, and has agreed to help a child named Red find his memories in exchange for him finding her son.
MISC
Beast formalities for Selene :3! Selene is very friendly with the other Beasts. She refers to those she knows as "friend" or "sibling". She also uses the term "dear" to show that she loves and cares for all those she considers friends and family. She doesn't like using disrespectful terms or mocking titles like the other Beasts, so her, sort of, lowest show of respect is using a Beast's casual name. Despite her and Providence's issues, she still refers to him as her "dear son".
RELATIONSHIPS
Very strained. Selene still loves and cares for him, as he is her only living son and family. She is very scared to lose him, even though she knows him dying would be beneficial to the earth. It cannot be said that Providence feels same towards her.
He reminds her a bit of her son Comet, so she acts very motherly and protective of him. She is sympathetic towards em and wants to help him find his memories.
Broke ass marriage! Selene and Soren are basically divorced. Though the two were once very close, they grew apart when they became parents. Selene found Soren's distance and lack of care for their sons aggravating and blamed him for what happened to their sons.
She fucking hates this guy lmao. Selene respects how much Elijah cares for his family, however, she finds him selfish. A bit hypocritical of her, but she's also just pissed that he isn't really willing to cooperate with her on anything.
