Oblivion

Oblivion, a hermit by nature, is alone frequently. He prefers to be alone than around people, as he finds them tiring. It's stated in Love Town that Oblivion only occasionally shows up to family events, and before Love Paradox he was making more of an effort to. Between Love Paradox and Love Town, Oblivion went back to keeping to himself.

Oblivion is friends with Kenny and Toni. They're sometimes shown bullying him for being short, but they seem to get along.

Oblivion adores both of his brothers, Nemesis and Galactica. He looks up to Nemesis a lot, moreso in his youth, and wants to be just as feared and respected as he is. He seems to have a lot more of a casual friendship to Galactica, but occasionally seeks advice from him for interpersonal matters.

At the end of Love Paradox (11th July 2023), and a lot of interpersonal reflection, Oblivion started dating his friend Kenneth Warner. Between Love Paradox and Love Town, Bliv and Kenny were in a long-distance relationship, but at the start of Love Town Bliv put a wormhole in his home so they could simply crawl through and get to each other's homes in a matter of seconds. Bliv and Kenny don't seem to be very physically affectionate publically, instead behaving more like lads with a good amount of banter between them, but Bliv loves Kenny dearly. Sometimes he gets nervous Kenny will abandon him. Despite Bliv's more reserved nature and a tendency to be more of a loner, Kenny is shown to be patient with Bliv.

Between 2012-2015, Oblivion really despised his new roomate, Smiler. He was frequently cold to her and tried to avoid her.
During Love Paradox, a certain man exhibits certain behaviours that make Bliv feel unsafe and greatly dislike him. This eventually leads to Bliv pleading the man to leave him alone or else he'll leave the show. In scenes after that incident, even if the man and Bliv are in the same room, Bliv went out of his way to avoid interaction with the preoblamtic man.
Based on this evidence, Bliv has a tendency to avoid his enemies where necessary.

While Oblivion was a bit more of a rebel in his youth, (until certain behaviours got him taken to court), he's a lot more obediant in present day. Oblivion is generally considered one of better Coasters at Alton Towers to manage due to his work ethic and no-nonsense attitude.

Oblivion is a nihilist/hedonist. He believes nothing really matters in the grandscheme of things, so you might as well have as much fun as possible. You only get one life, so make it interesting! He doesn't really believe in God(s) or anything. He hasn't really given much thought as to what happens after death, he kind of just believes your conscious ceases to be and you stop experiencing stuff. He thinks the thought of death sounds relaxing and calming. He isn't scared of it.

Oblivion also believes in luck, but in more of a mathematical way. He doesn't believe in things like increasing or decreasing luck, but he belives that, mathematically, if you look across a span of events across a length of time (IE everything that happens to a person across their whole life), the level of luck experienced is like a bell-curve, with most people having an average number of good/bad things happening to them, but you're of course going to stumble across that 0.001% chance outliar with ridiculously good "luck" eventually.

Despite not being overtly religious or believing in changeable-luck, Oblivion does believe some Coaster-culture superstitions. (IE, untieing and retying your shoe after the last ride of the day to bring good fortune.)

Oblivion, generally, does not see himself as a nice person. His whole goal in life is to be as intimidating as possible, and well, it's hard to be considered morally good when your whole purpose is to strike fear into the hearts of people on the daily. Despite this, he considers Galactica to be "very kind."

Oblivion is introduced in Issue #1 sleeping on a beanbag beside Air. He is surrounded by empty Fanta cans. He is dismissive about the idea of a new roommate, and experiences a "cop out" when greeting her.

Oblivion is shown doing a "classic B&M roar" alongside his brothers Nemesis and Galactica. Depsite many park-goers finding the roar to be majestic and powerful sounding, the comic portrays it as a comical, monotone "ÆÆÆÆÆÆÆ".

In Issue #3, Oblivion's Fanta addiction is expanded upon.

Oblivion is shown meeting up with Nemesis to invite him to dinner with Galactica after Nemesis' doctor's appointment. He picks up on the fact that Nemesis looks upset, and looks emotionally crushed when Nemesis tells him that he could be dying.

Oblivion clarifies to some park-goers that Alton Towers doesn't offer hypnosis, only to get threatened with "correction" by his new roommate, Smiler.

Oblivion is about to be made The Coaster Incharge by Nemesis, until Smiler interrupts him and states that there may be a way to ease his Jerkenjault symtoms.

Oblivion is asked to hold the leash to a Blind-Person's guide dog while they get on the ride. Oblivion really wants to pet the dog, but knows he can't because it's a working dog. When the blind person comes back, Oblivion tells them their dog was very well behaved. The blind person let's Oblivion feed their dog a treat, and Oblivion experienced a high amount of joy while feeding a dog.

Oblivion is shown checking restraints, muttering "nice and secure, nice and secure, safe and secure," as he does. A park-goer asks why they're safe and not nice, to which Oblivion refers to them as "very lovely."

When Smiler is about to marmalise Nemesis, causing him a panic attack, Oblivion attempts to calm him down.

Oblivion claims he can outrun Rita, to which he can but for only a few seconds.

Oblivion, after previous events, comments that Sub-Terra may reopen.

Much like his brother Nemesis, Oblivion made his coming entrance to the park known by digging a huge hole right by where The Black Hole was. Blackhole was curious and mildly intimidated, but eventually adopted a motherly role towards him.

Oblivion was officially opened in 1998 into the X-Sector area of Alton Towers. He had an older brother, Nemesis, who he admired very much. He wanted to be just like his big brother and copied a lot of his mannerisms. Also in X-Sector was Blackhole. Oblivion saw The Black Hole as somewhat of a mentor/mother figure and the two were happy being the most intimidating rides at Alton Towers.

In 2002, Oblivion's younger sister Air was born. Oblivion was initally jealous because Air got lots of attention from park-goers and he was way scarier than her- But he gradually learned to accept her existance.

In 2005, The Blackhole lost her job due to being too high maintenance and Oblivion was the only coaster left working in X-Sector. In 2007, The Blackhole moved out of The X-Sector to find a new job and place to live because the rent was too steep. Oblivion lived alone for the next 6 years, griefstruck and in denial that Blackhole was truly gone. He kept up a lot of Blackhole's memorabila (mainly her tent) in case she ever returned home. In 2008, Oblivion got diagnosed with clinical depression, a problem that would continue to plague him for years to come. While Oblivion wasn't as sad about Corkscrew's death in 2008, he was still a bit sad about it.

In 2011, Oblivion started using the drink Fanta to cope with his loss. People didn't like this and urged him to cut back on his Fanta addiction. In 2012, Oblivion started making Fried Chicken as a hobby (and coping strategy) and opened The Fried Chicken Co (later renamed to Just Chicken). By 2012, Blackhole had still not returned.

One day in 2012, Nemesis introduced Oblivion to his new roommate, Smiler. Oblivion wasn't happy about this initally, still wanting to keep Blackhole's tent up, but The Smiler had a well-paying medical-linked job, so Oblivion begrudingly allowed her to stay. Also during 2013, Oblivion got institutionalised for a bit due to his clinical depression getting more severre. (He was fine).

In 2023, Oblivion celebrated his 25th Birthday. Upon doing this, an Alton staff member told him the news that his fried chicken team had been fired and replaced with a new one. Oblivion (and the guests) did not like this change because they think serving mold is a good thing.

While Oblivion tries to put up an aura of intimidation and aloofness, the more time you spend around him the more you realise he's actually just a moron. It can be a little bit hard to tell what he's thinking sometimes, but he's not actively dangerous.

Oblivion's decently smart, but compared to a lot of the Very Smart people at Alton Towers, he appears dumber by comparison. He's very oblivious, and often misses out on innuendos / jokes. In terms of running (stamina/speed), Oblivion's a bit like a cat, where he'll run very fast in short bursts but he can't do long distance because he gets tired.

• It was revealed in LT that Oblivion has Deuteranopia (red-green colourblindness), but doesn't know it.
  • When Crispin pictures his vision in his mind, he imagines the colour perception to favour orange more than actual deuteranopia actually does. A comparison between normal vision and Bliv's condition can be seen below.

• Oblivion is reguarly shown drinking Fanta in reference to the 2011 Fanta Sponsorship.

• Oblivion was codename "Secret Weapon 4" before it came out for the 1998 season.
• Oblivion (and the area planned for it, X-Sector,) was originally going to be steampunk themed. This was changed to be a government facility later into development. Some steampunk elements can still be seen in Oblivion's design.
