Intro

"It is not ideal, to live a life of fear..."

An ancient legendary pokemon that made the entire region of Gado and the life within it. Her origin is unknown, and even she cannot fully remember it. Some people think she is a piece of Arceus, a man-made pokemon, and things of the sort. She is truly just a creature of her own, a powerful one with the power of creation. She made Gado somewhat because she was lonely, and wanted to see life personally connected to her thrive. She is now connected to Gado, in the sense that she keeps it alive as long as she is healthy herself. There will be a time that the region of Gado will be stable enough to uphold itself, without Notan. Until then, Gado as itself needs another 1million years until it is strong enough.

She usually lives extremely deep and high up in the mountain ranges of Gado, sometimes coming down to live in the forests for a little while. She loves being near Pokemon and Humans alike, watching over her creations in awe. She does like to take strolls around the forests of Gado, helping and greeting any Pokemon she comes across. She will usually shy away from any Human she comes across, no matter their intentions. She's become fearful of humans ever since her antler was shot off. She still loves them all though, and will watch them from a distance.

Personality

  • OUTGOING: Notan can talk to about anyone, even if its simply asking about their day or other small talk. She often finds joy in the little things, having a nice conversation is one of them.
  • GLOOMY: After being attacked countless times, she has some trauma because of it. She's now a bit gloomy and anxious, somewhat showing it in the way she talks. She often trails off or somewhat stutters, also having a sad look on her face.
  • CALM: Shes extremely calm. It would take quite a lot to make her raise her voice at someone besides her own kids. She talks very calmly, with elegant words like a sophisticated woman.
  • COMPASSIONATE: She would stop whatever she's doing to help a pokemon that looks like needs help. She has sometimes even returned lost pokemon to trainers personally. She never does that now, however.
  • MOTHERLY: Living up to her name, she is extremely motherly, her tone of voice being soothing and warm. Even if she's being attacked, she'll try to negotiate and calm the attacker down.

Notan is the most respected Pokemon in Gado, as she should be. She is generally referred to as 'Mother Notan', akin to her name and demeanour. She made the entire region of Gado and all life in it, still being powerful enough to do so again. Although she is happy with Gado, watching over it in awe. She helps balance the region, as it is still somewhat young. As she balances the region, she has made her daughters for protecting the life of the region.

True Origin

A Synchronus that aspired to be Arceus or of the like so bad, it escaped Ultra Space and roamed the ancient world. It swam to Hisui, where it lived in the wilderness, controlling multiple Pokemon and consuming them. The more time it spent out of Ultra Space, and the more normal Pokemon they consumed, it started to transform, and take on a more normal appearing body. It took on a serpentine, Arceus resembling forme, but it still wanted more. It seeked out the plates of Arceus, believing if consuming all of the plates, it will be able to challenge them. It was only able to find and consume half of the Dark and Fairy plates before Pokemon and Humans caught onto this unknown Pokemon roaming the lands. It was forced to flee, using all of its strength to swim to an unknown island. Where it slept for a millennium, unbothered and strength festering within it. Its mysterious power that carried over from Ultra Space combined with the consumed halves of the Dark and Fairy Plates festered into god-like power.

It awoke years later, with forgotten memories of its origin and now with the power of creation, it formed the island it rested on into a new region. As it strayed away from its forgotten goal, its forme changed again, separating itself from the greedful past of the serpentine forme. Some could say it transformed into something that resembled both human and Pokemon. Taking on a unique, Legendary look and status. It remained worshipped as such, having forgotten its past goal as it lived on for millions of years. The region that it formed millions of years ago is now known today as Gado, and the once megalomanic Synchronus has made itself into a completely new species. Who we know as Madrensu.

Trivia

  • Shes been redesigned about 5 times, not as much as Ragnoroma and Yonalys however.
  • Notan does have a separate forme, like an Origin Forme, she rarely changes into it anymore.
  • If Humans come to her shrine, she will listen to them while hidden. She'll only come out extremely rarely.
  • She has countless stories from her many years alive, she loves to go on for hours telling them.
  • After the attack in which her antler was broken off, she has become anxious and traumatised. She hardly leaves her shrine, and doesn't fly anymore because of it.
  • She has an origin forme that she created Gado in. She rarely ever transforms into it anymore, though.
  • Her name came from the Spanish word Madre, for mother- And Baransu, Japanese for Balance
  • Her 'shrine' actually really isn't a typical shrine at all. Its a giant tree resting on Gado's highest peak.
  • Just like the rest of the trio, the 'armour' on her is part of her skeleton, its pure silver.
  • Shes the second most popular Pokemon in Gado. The first being Yonalys, and the third being Gadonian Gardevoir.

Ragnoroma Daughter, Tense

Notan was somewhat neglectful to Ragnoroma in her childhood, favouring Yonalys. Notan is geniunely remorseful though, wanting to talk to Ragnoroma and trying to apologise. Unforunately, Rag is hesitant, not knowing how to talk calmly with her. Notan won't stop trying though, determined to repair their relationship.

Yonalys Daughter, Close

Notan unfairly favoured Yonalys over Ragnoroma, generally because she was weaker and smaller, and generally needed more care. They're both pretty close because of it, also trying to include Ragnoroma with conversations. They're both happy to include her, even though she doesn't talk much. Notan and Yonalys liked to fly together, but now Notan is too nervous to fly, so they settle for walks instead.
