Aurora

Basics

Aurora is a very shy and diffident person. She observes a situation, behaviour or actions first until she slowly opens up to anyone. She was always creative and liked to bring her ideas and visions to life in any way. She can craft anything, from useful, daily things to helpful tools. But what she likes to create the most is: decoration and jewelry of any kind. So even if she had other plans for her future, she does not regret to take over the old workshop of her father, even though this meant to move to Portia and leaving her old life behind.

Aurora loves to listen to music while working on Commissions. When you walk pass by her workshop, you will most probably hear music coming from it, sometimes quite loud too. She might sing and dance while working to it too and forgets that everyone can look into her yard (and see her doing this). When she goes mining, she always takes earphones and music with her.
She even has a little dancefloor on her property, with neon and disco lights. There's also a sign on the entry of her workshop that invites anyone to come join it when they hear music they like - She does not mind to have company from Portia on her property while work, as long as they do not distract her or hold her back from work too much.

She has a loyal horse, a white stallion named Blitz (Lightning), and a very attached cotton Llama called Lamu. Lamu is very protective and does not like other males around Aurora - With Arlo being an exception. She 'dresses' Blitz like a Unicorn. She made him a very light horn out of foam that can be attached to his head, and braided his tail unicorn-like.

Aurora found new friends in Portia: Emily, Antoine and Sam to name a few. But not only that. When she met Arlo for the first time, there was this tiny lightning that hit her heart for just a second as soon as his eyes met hers. Back then she had never thought of the possibilty that this spark could become a fire of very strong and undying feelings.

The past

Aurora was born in Portia. Her father had this thriving workshop and everything was fine. Until.. Her mother sadly got very sick. Aurora was still a little kid and did not really notice that something was very wrong with her mother. But she tried to prepare her daughter for the time when she were gone. When Auroras mother passed away, her father changed a lot. He wasn't able to take care of the workshop anymore, he could not even care for his daughter anymore. His heart was broken and he just wanted to flee from the pain. So he closed the workshop and brought Aurora to her aunt in Barnarock. Of course it was also heartbreaking for him to leave his daughter, but right now, he did not feel like being able to care for her anymore as she deserved, needed, and as he would love to. Her father then left to travel around the world, trying to bury the blow of fate under a bunch of new memories.

Aurora was at a very young age and did not really understand what was going on during that time. Of course she got it that her mommy wouldn't come back and was now a star in the nightsky that watches over her every night, but it was hard for her to understand why her dad "abandoned" her.
Thankfully though, her aunt was the most kind-hearted person on earth. She never had own children, so she poured all her love over Aurora and gave her a home and a childhood with more good memories to think back than bad ones. Her aunt was some sort of a builder - She lived alone and had no problems at all to repair her house or do this and build that. Her Aunt lived a little at the borders of Barnarock, where the chances of getting a slight bit of rain was a little higher. So they could have a little garden with vegetables and flowers too. Aurora learned a lot from her aunt, and probably thanks to her, the fun in creating small and big things and being able to build whatever she imagines began to sproud and grow in Aurora.

Her aunt had a little hobby as well: Crafting little jewelry and selling it as a small additional income. Aurora was all into this stuff and loved to help her creating pretty bracelets, necklaces and more. She gained the ability to create and handle very filigree and small objects.

The present

Aurora became a well-bred, sensitive and very shy adult.
At some point she received a letter from Portia. They have been asking Aurora about the land that the old workshop was on. If she decides to keep it - and run it, or if Portia could buy the land from her for their own use. This kind of decision was not easy for Aurora. She actually had other plans for her future and she did not know how to feel about it to go back to the old workshop. Although she had only little snippets of memory to it since she was so small when she came to her aunt. But she did not want to let go her past completely and abandon what her father had once established, even if it was literally in ruins now. So she decided - with the help and comfort of her aunt - to move to Portia and take over the workshop. Her aunt even stayed with her for a little while first, so the start in this new chapter of Auroras life would not be that hard.

Aurora managed then to get the workshop going again, find new friends and even.. true love. In retrospect, she is more than happy about her decision to move back to Portia. Otherwise she would have never met all these nice people, not found her place in their great community, and especially not having her own family with her one true love.

She has also met her father again, who was traveling around ever since. He came back to Portia when he heard about the rumour of his daughter taking over his old workshop by now, which made him more than proud. At first, Aurora wasn't so happy about his sudden appearance. All his life she managed to be without him, and now all of a sudden, he came back as if nothing happened, as if he did not abandon her as a child.
Thankfully, they could solve their problems and Aurora was even able to forgive him. After all, now that she found her one and only in Portia, she can even understand better why her dad did act like this. If something would happen to Auroras significant other, she wouldn't know what to do and how to handle such a broken heart.

The future

When Auroras son Ace took over the workshop, and Alex went to travel around in the name of the Flying Pigs, she does not stop creating - but in a different way. She focuses more on the things she wanted to do back then, before she decided to take the path that led to Portia and her fathers old workshop. Now she loves to sew plushies of all size, or work on dioramas (Like this and this super talented person!). For this, she even has a big atelier in her house to do all these things at one place. Her house is full of these creations already, so she also gifts plushies or donates the dioramas to the museum for everyone to see and enjoy. Sometimes she gives Art Lessons for this kind of crafts at school.
Even though she always loved music, she was never into making her own music.

But from all the things she loves to do the most and always did is, of course, spending time with her dearly beloved husband, Arlo. They always loved to travel together: They did before they had kids, they did when they had kids, and now, they enjoy romantic travels with only the two of them again. And if they do not visit their favourite places in the world, they simply enjoy their time together at home and look back at all the memories they made in their life together with a sadisfied smile and happiness in their heart.
