Duckwing

Duckwing is a warrior of RiverClan. He is the son of Mudslip and Vixenwhisper and was born alongside his siblings, Warmkit and Newtkit. As a kit, Mudslip was allowed breaks from his duties and spent time with them in the nursery. He was trained by Troutspots and then earned his warrior name, Duckwing. as the Clans struggled against Bone Shred, Duckwing suggested leaving the forest, thinking if the Clans stayed, they would be picked off one by one.

He mentored an apprentice, Thunderwater, and fought in the battle against Deserve's Army.

He was killed as a result of Rosemary and ascended to StarClan.

"We have to leave the forest! If we stay here, they'll pick us off one by one until we're all dead!"

Kithood

Duckkit was born in RiverClan to Vixenwhisper and Mudslip alongside his siblings, Newtkit and Warmkit. Mudslip was allowed breaks from his warrior duties to spend time with them. When Petalfin's kits: Mintkit, Darkkit, and Willowkit were born, Vixenwhisper kept her kits away from the newborns who were too small to play. (Beyond the River, chapter 5)

Apprenticeship

Duckpaw became an apprentice and received Troutspots as a mentor. He, Newtpaw, and Warmpaw were excited at their first gathering as Shimmerstar announced them as new apprentices (Beyond the River, chapter 6).

Mudslip and Vixenwhisper were very proud of their kits and sometimes watched them train with their mentors. (Beyond the River, chapter 11).

Warrior

Duckpaw and his siblings were excited as Shimmerstar held their warrior ceremony, and their mentors and parents watched proudly. Duckpaw was nervous as the ceremony began. After Warmmoss is made a warrior, the ceremony is interrupted by Otterpelt wailing about a vision. Afterwards, she continues with the ceremony, naming Duckwing and Newttail warriors, but most cats are too worried to listen. (Beyond the River, chapter 11)

Duckwing grieved when his brother, Newttail, was killed by Bone Shred's rogues. He and Warmmoss crouched over the body, their heads pressed into his fur. (Beyond the River, chapter 20).

After the battle against Bone Shred's rogues at the gathering, Duckwing exclaimed to his Clanmates that they had to leave the forest, as if they stay here, the rogues will pick them off one by one until they're all dead. Dipfoot angrily protested against this. (Beyond the River, chapter 28)

During the time of Bone Shred's defeat, Duckwing mentored an apprentice, Thunderwater. (Beyond the River, allegiance update 8)

Duckwing is shocked when Stormstar announces Poisonedsap wanted to join ShadowClan, calling it crazy. (Milkblaze's Suspicion, chapter 3)

Duckwing fought in the battle against Deserve's Army.

Duckwing bristles as he's surprised Song and Stripednose aren't home in ShadowClan yet. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 15)

Death

Frostedstar reports that Duckwing and Pebblestep have died as a result of Rosemary. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 25)

In death, he ascends to StarClan.
