Troutspots

Troutspots was a warrior of RiverClan and the brother of Petalfin. He was a tough and loyal warrior who was never afraid to speak his mind for the good of the Clan. He mentored Lilynose, and later Duckwing. He and Creekleap overheard Bone Shred speaking to Iceslide during an attack on the camp, and Troutspots did not hesitate to angrily reveal to the Clan how Iceslide betrayed them.

While leading a dawn patrol, the cats are ambushed by Bone Shred's rogues, and Poisonedsap kills Troutspots. From there, Troutspots ascended to StarClan.

"They're hiding something. They know something we don't."

Troutspots can be sharp tongued and unafraid to speak his mind. He enjoyed leading patrols.

Troutspots was a strong and patient hunter.

Youth

Troutkit is born in RiverClan alongside his sister, Petalkit. He trained as Troutpaw and then earned his warrior name, Troutspots.

Warrior

While Petalfin became mates with Frozenripple and became a queen, Troutspots focused on warrior duties and had no interest in taking a mate. He mentored Lilynose.

After Otterpelt spoke of a doom for RiverClan, Maplesky told the Clan of a dream of RiverClan thriving. Troutspots asked how he knew it wasn't one of his ordinary dreams, to which Maplesky responded it came straight from his mentor in StarClan. (Beyond the River, chapter 3)

Troutspots leads a fishing patrol with Lakesong, Creekleap, Perchstripe, and Iceslide, though Iceslide sneaks away while Troutspots is focused on the water. (Beyond the River, chapter 5) Not long after this, one day Troutspots complains of a cough that is treated by Maplesky and Otterpelt, and luckily does not become greencough or whitecough. (Beyond the River, chapter 8)

Troutspots disapproved of Iceslide being made a warrior again after his visits to twolegplace, muttering to Shorestep that he is no warrior. (Beyond the River, chapter 9)

Troutspots trained a second apprentice, Duckpaw, often with Newtpaw and Warmpaw and their mentors, Whitedapple and Grayshadow. (Beyond the River, chapter 11) Troutspots was proud when Duckpaw earned his name, Duckwing. After the ceremony when Otterpelt has another vision, Troutspots murmurs to Shorestep that the medicine cats are hiding something. (Beyond the River, chapter 13)

Troutspots, Shorestep, and Creekleap are seen clearing snow from the camp clearing. When Shimmerstar suggests limiting patrols to two a day in response to the rogue attacks, Troutspots protests they can't gather enough prey with just two patrols. Frostedcloud agrees. (Beyond the River, chapter 20)

After Bone Shred and his rogues attack the camp, Troutspots and Creekleap confront Iceslide, having overheard Bone Shred comment on how he helped them. Troutspots calls him a traitor. After Shimmerstar recovers from losing a life, Troutspots angrily tells the Clan that Iceslide is a traitor. Winterlight jumps to Iceslide's defense, but Troutspots yowls that he heard it himself, and so did Creekleap. He glares at Iceslide and says that he helped that stinking rogue get to the forest. Iceslide admits this to the Clan. (Beyond the River, chapter 23)

Death

Troutspots crosses the clearing with Bizzardfur and bares his teeth at Iceslide. Iceslide feels they have every right to hate him. Troutspots disapproves when Frostedcloud has Iceslide join his patrol, along with Blizzardfur, Perchstripe, Warmmoss, Troutspots, and Eelpaw. Troutspots tests Eelpaw's skills as they remark the SkyClan border. Warmmoss is about to alert him that she smells rogues when Poisoned Sap crashes out of the bushes and lunges for Troutspots' neck, sinking her teeth in and pushes him into the snow. Troutspots yowls before he dies. Iceslide and Warmmoss are the only survivors after the attack. (Beyond the River, chapter 26)
