Colt may look like a stoic or impassive man and although he's pretty down-to-earth and cool-headed, he's quite the opposite of apathetic; Colt is incredibly soft-hearted and compassionate, especially around the people closest to him. He's selfless to the degree that he can be unintentionally destructive to himself, rarely thinking of himself first and almost always putting everyone else first. He's adamant to protect people no matter how much he needs to sacrifice for himself to do so. His selflessness is his biggest strength whilst also being his biggest weakness.

BACKSTORY
THE LABS
Colt always struggled with finances, being twenty-one at the time he was barely scraping by, having left his family's house to live on his own a year before. He didn't have much job experience and had trouble maintaining a stable income. But fortunately, Colt would find a seemingly big break. He would stumble upon an opportunity to get money while browsing for jobs. The opportunity was essentially 'new medication that needed to be tested' and the clinic needed volunteers to test their trials... So, Colt would willingly sign himself up for the tests... Unbeknownst to him he'd go through the worst four years of his life.
SHAPE-SHIFTING
While he was in the labs, he was injected with a vaccine that gives him the ability to shapeshift into an animal. Colt was given the ability to transform into a mountain lion. The laboratory had different procedures depending on how dangerous the respective animal would be when being handled. Although Colt wasn't at all a confrontational or aggressive man, because of the fact the species he's attached to is considered 'dangerous', he'd be treated as such and mistreated especially worse...
As a result of his trauma, even after the ten-year gap since then, he's still terrified of himself when he transforms. Part of him genuinely believes he's a hazard to the people around him. It's a core reason why he's able to keep cool and calm-minded during stressful situations... He's aware if he gets too stressed or anxiety stricken that he'll turn.
RELATIONS
The two met when they were both in the labs due to the fact they were cellmates... But because of their shared past, it only makes their bond stronger. The two understand each other like the back of their hand!
When the three escaped the labs, despite Gordie's involvement in their trauma, Colt could see that she was different and that she was also a victim of abuse. Although their relationship used to be very rocky, the three managed to mend it together and now both Colt and Zach welcome Gordie with open arms. Calling Gordie 'grateful' is an understatement and he'll do anything for his partners.
Colt loves Dustin and treats him like he's his own son by blood. He sees himself in him and does everything to guide Dustin on the right path, trying to give Dustin a normal childhood the best he can and shield him from the truth that not everybody thinks his "sweet raccoon powers" are so sweet...
MISC
TRIVIA
- Can never seem to stick to one job... he either gets fired or it's somehow too stressful for him! He tried being a daycare teacher and it didn't go well.....
- One of those Weird people who actually go to the gym and work out wtf
- Giant pushover. Dustin will ask him for something, refuse, but then fall back on it when Dustin gives him the puppy eyes
- He has mannerisms similar to a cat/animal: he purrs when he's really relaxed, growls when he's angry, whimpers when he's scared/sad
- Likes healthy food and vegetables but he hates celery... It's the one vegetable he doesn't eat and refuses to
