Does Brig even exist?

No one knows where Brig came from.  No one knows what she was like before being a pirate.   Brig isn't even her real name- she got the nickname from spending so much time with the prisoners of the Scarlet Vessel. But Brig is heavily respected by her shipmates and her captain, Captain Barren Red.  She acts as the iron fist among the crew, settling matters when they get out of control.  Otherwise, Brig stays out of the way.  
She never felt too heavily about her captain's rivalry with the Gravedigger.  She respected the Gravedigger- then again, she respected anyone with power.  But as a member of the Scarlet Vessel, Brig must carry out her captain's wishes- and she does so extremely well.

Brig is the person to talk to when you need someone to listen without giving their own opinion.  She's quiet and likes to stay out of people's hair for the most part.  The only person she's consistently seen talking to is Esther.  Speaking of Esther, anyone who treats her wrong gets the bad side of Brig's fist.
