"Don't get on my nerves, kid!"
Igsi is a man of many convictions.
As an angakkuq, Igsi devotes himself to traditions and knowledge of a religion that has nearly all been wiped from the world due to colonization, with only the guiding light of his disavowed mentor, his guiding spirit Paliq, and Roland Lawrence, an anthropologist he has known since an incredibly young age.
That does not, however, mean he is orthodox about it. Far from it, actually. Over the course of his life, filled with injustices and breaches of authority, Igsi has taken his life into his own hands. Never will he be seen as below anybody, regardless of the cost it will take to finally be taken seriously.
That includes the god of whom he seeks answers from.
PERSONALITY
Igsi's personality can be summed up by two words: ego and audacity. With utmost confidence in his abilities and judgement, you would be hard pressed to find Igsi treating any situation like it wasn't a game or a challenge of some kind. Convinced of him and humanity's talents, he believes he is equal to the gods and spirits of old, and so you would never find him grovelling under anyone, god or not.
With this strong personality, however, comes a unique attitude. Igsi is fierce when up against any he is convinced sees him as lower than them, regardless of whether that assumption is correct. On the flip side, he is more playful and comfortable when around those who view him as equal, and his teasing becomes a little less mean. Just a little.

RELATIONS
Igsi's closest friend, and later lover, in Ittuatuq. Igsi likes the challenge of going after a minor deity, but comes to genuinely appreciate how Airaq treats their relationship as equal. They start out as casual flings, but over time and through pain, they get quite closer.
Igsi's main rival once he enters Ittuatuq. Loves picking on Piqati over whatever he can, willing to go to harmful lengths to show he's better than him. Though, after a partcular incident, his feelings towards Piqati flip from extreme hate to tolerance as he recovers.
Igsi loves and appreciates his tuurngaq as family. After Paliq saved him from dying in the tundra, the two have a near unbreakable bond, treating each others with the respect and dignity that most typically do not associate with the angakkuq-tuurngaq dynamic.
MISC
TRIVIA
- Igsi and Paliq were originally supposed to die before I settled on keeping them alive.
- Igsivalitaq is the name of an Inuk murderer, who ran away from his community after hearing he would be taken by the white man's police instead of traditional vengeance.
- Despite 'cringe losers' being in his dislikes, Igsi is a cringe ass loser.
- Has Histrionic Personality Disorder. don't be weird abt it alright.
