-MIAOU is a robot, whose creator dumped them into society soon after making them. MIAOU does not know who created them or why, they booted up for the first time in a small apartment within a highly populated city with no notes or anything to guide them.

-The only noteworthy thing MIAOU woke up to was a small robotic cat, its name Mew etched on its back. Mew was in the same place as MIAOU, booting up for the first time without any knowledge of why they exist. Because of this, Mew is MIAOU's only companion.

-Mew can play music through their ear speakers! They also figured out that they could plug themselves into MIAOU's computer to use that music and create new electronic tracks of their own. After learning how to use the computer, MIAOU would help Mew by editing their soundtracks, and the two would post their songs online. With no lyrics and very odd sounding samples, their songs would only reach a very niche audience.

-Despite them being the only robot in the place they were dropped in, the humans living there appear to not notice MIAOU is a robot, and treat them the same as any other human. MIAOU and Mew would eventually realize how suspicious this behavior was, and would start to catch humans from a distance staring at them. The humans were clearly in on something involving them, so the two would vow to never put their trust in anyone but each other.

-MIAOU has never spoken a word. Neither has Mew. The two are able to communicate through beep noises, as well as telepathically (through wireless connection). MIAOU will only communicate to humans through written text, though it is rare for them to want to communicate with humans at all.

-Neither of the two were created with any sense of emotion, though after exploration and interaction with humans, they would gain several negative emotions. Disgust, discomfort, and anger became the most prevalent between them. They also gained several neutral emotions, such as curiosity and embarrassment. Unfortunately, neither of them have learned any positive emotions yet.

-MIAOU would gain the incredibly intense emotion of regret after killing a person. Despite their dislike of humans, the memory would stay with them forever, breeding more and more negative emotions (sadness, sorrow, remorse, mourning). Mew on the other hand, would not gain regret from the experience, and instead tried to keep killing people. Their small stature would make this impossible, however. No human would be scared of a tiny little cat trying to stab their ankles...they all thought it was "cute".

-MIAOU usually wears a backpack when they leave their home. It contains wires, and if MIAOU falls under extreme stress or loses too much battery, the wires will shoot out and seek to penetrate a source of power or internet connection, leeching off of what they provide in order to bring MIAOU back to their senses.

The Truth Below

MIAOU and Mew are robotic iterations of Mai and her demon.
Mai would be assassinated by a religious organization after they figured out her abnormal abilities were caused by a deal with a demon.
Those who required Mai's abilities for their work went into a panic and brought Mai to scientists to try to revive or rebuild her.
MIAOU and Mew were created as vessels to hold both her and the demon's souls. It worked, but both of them had completely lost all of their memories.
MIAOU was useless to them without an ability to draw, so everyone decided to give up on reviving Mai and just abandon them.
MIAOU and Mew were moved back into Mai's apartment, and everyone in the area was informed of MIAOU's existence. They were told to treat the new robot with respect despite how they may behave.
