Personality
Silas is a very good natured person who likes the think the best of all people. He doesn't judge people before getting to know them and he is always willing to give second chances (except in a few rare cases). He is very kind and generous; he puts other people's lives before his own and always tries to do the right thing even if its dangerous. He can become friends with almost anyone; people naturally flock to his charming and happy personality.
He is very loyal to those he loves and honest. He will do anything for them. He is also known for being obnoxious at times, usually when drinking and extremely childish.
He is sometimes percieved as an idiot but he is actually quite smart. He is capable of being commanding and calculating when necessary and has proved countless times that he can get the job done. He is always fair but has on occasion been understandably cold.

History
SIlas is Evander's only son. He lost his mother in childbirth and was raised by Evander alone. He grew up in the Castle of Dawn where he got everything he wanted and was allowed to do whatever he wanted. He learned how to rule and how to fight and became an expert swordsman. It became wildly known that he was undefeated in tourneys throughout Aurora.
As a child Silas spent much of his time alone learning how to be a King. At the time he didn't know how to make friends easily and some children were wary of becoming friends with the Prince. Around fifteen he met Phillip Lorn a Vanpiron who became his first real friend and the offical Translator for Dawn. They spent a lot of time together.
Around seventeen Silas began to sherk his princely duties and spent a lot of time at parties where most of the time he was getting drunk. He also found himself in the company of single women. He enjoyed this lifestyle immensly and it continued for many years. His father was not happy with the reputation he was getting and they had many fights geared towards him stopping the drinking and sleeping around.
Eventually at nineteen Evander tried to marry him off in an effort to make him grow up. SIlas panicked as he wasn't ready to settle down and said he would rather do anything besides getting married. Evander said if he toned down his behaviour and became General he could forgo getting married. Silas agreed. It was a shaky start to what eventually became the best decision he made; his troops learned to trust and respect him and would glad lay down their lives for him and he them.
Between the ages of 22-23, requiring a new bodyguard, Silas rescues Ryley Kian from prison and empoys him in his service (something Evander did not approve of in the beginning). They have a very rocky relationship in the beginning which blossoms into a real friendship that defines them both in many ways. They become very important to each other.
Silas pushes Ryley's patience more so then Evander's, but does it out of love. He is usually only really obnoxious and childish around Ryley because it annoys him. He is very understanding of Ryley's attitudes and hang up more so then anyone else (except Carlisle and Tobias). They rarely fight and Silas owes him a great deal.
At 28 Silas is finally forced into marriage. He marries Ada Selwyn who was chosen by Ryley as the best choice for him. He does like her in the beginning and eventually the two of them do fall in love and have a happy marriage. They have one son together and are over-joyed by their extended family.
He exceeds his father as King at 35.
