Category 5 edge event happens. Probably around my first depression dip...

Somewhere around this time, I had the idea to introduce the curse into her character -- mostly for edgy reasons, really. I just thought it'd look cool.

I remember this because it was around this time Overwatch dropped and in a true autism pipeline fashion, David was created. Only time I'll include his creation here I promise but he was created as a character I could at the time fall in love with, thus making him Nova's love interest.

+ In this timeframe, I made her hunting team (now the protagonists of Knights of Kowjo), based on my irl group of friends. Ah, the 11 year old experience... EVERYTHING was based around my experience on an almost 1:1 ratio, so I don't feel exactly comfortable posting it as it borders self-doxxing. There's a reason my old dA account has everything privated.

Voltron's season 2 drops, and with that it comes to my radar through a friend of mine. This is where her creation spirals. Inspired by this, I went back and forth with ideas to add in a mecha element to her story, eventually settling on a specific machine: Imperium.

Symbolized by a shark or a lion (both worked idk how), Imperium was the predecessor of Regulus, in my head imagined as something similar to what D.va from Overwatch pilots. I didn't write of any this down so I don't have anything to go back into in terms of details except my memory...

Creation date of this drawing's first iteration, and what I would call the birth of modern Nova. I still called her by my own name around this time, eventually settling on Nova by the end of April 2017 when I touched it up. Her eyes also went from a dark brown to a hazel color with these two drawings!

Finish date of my first group drawing of her and her team. Her folder in this drawing's .sai is called 'Nyx', which was briefly an alternate name* for her.

*An alternate name was a thing I invented when the Kowjo universe was just becoming it's own original thing, in which characters (then from the My Little Pony fandom) inherited their original names as an alias, and got new human-like names.
