Khalil is a rebellious young teen who likes displaying his defiance through graffiti art. Though typically a quiet kid, he is known to have a sarcastic disposition and a rather wry, dry sense of humor. Khalil is most at ease among his school peers, but once placed in the new environment that is KIPA, he has become standoffish toward the faculty, staff, and students. Khalil can also be exceptionally stubborn and will look for cheap ways to get out of a situation he doesn't like being in. Khalil doesn't have the highest confidence in his academic abilities, but he is much brighter than he lets on. Even though his circumstances aren't too favorable and have him feeling directionless, he has got to get himself back out somehow.

Backstory

Khalil has lived in Augusta all his life and is an only child who lives with his mother. His parents divorced when he was just a toddler, but his father does co-parent and spend time with him when possible. When Khalil was young and learning how to ride a bike, he lost his balance and suffered an accident that severely injured the left side of his body. Despite wearing a helmet, he received gashes to his face, hand, and leg. Afterward, Khalil was left afraid of bike riding and wanted nothing to do with it. But with a touch of parental encouragement, he gave it another try and applied techniques on how to balance himself. A little trial and error later, bicycling became one of his favorite pastimes and modes of transportation.

Khalil has always been an artistic kid, and he adored the style of street and graffiti art. Seeing it on display through passing freight trains fascinated him. He always perked up upon hearing the blaring horns of diesel engines nearby hoping to be stopped at a level crossing even if it deeply annoyed his parents. Khalil also found it thrilling that the art wasn't even supposed to be on the freight cars in the first place. He wanted to be among the many to spray paint a freight car and get away with it, but venturing to a train yard alone was much too difficult. So he stuck with doodling and scribbling his own designs in his notebooks. Khalil would draw instead of paying attention in class which would often get him in trouble with teachers who didn’t appreciate his lack of participation. In opposition to them, he did his first graffiti piece on a school bathroom stall with only a marker and never looked back.

Physicality

Khalil has thick, tightly coiled hair. It is naturally dark brown, but he has an area at the top dyed red. Khalil's nose is small and round, his eyes are a deep dark brown, and his lips are two-toned. He has a warm dark umber complexion. Khalil has two scars on his face from his childhood bike accident: one across his left eyebrow and another on his upper left cheek. He also has a small scar between his index finger and thumb on his left hand. Khalil likes to wear baggy hoodies that usually obscure his upper body, but by looking at his legs, one can tell he has a lean and slight body type. On top of hoodies and jackets, Khalil loves to wear elaborate high-top sneakers and jogger pants. He's a big fan of streetwear fashion.
