Gita Gumilar (ギタ・グミラル) is a first-year Chemistry student at ??? University. She is a member of the jazz band catpurr^^capture.

Background

Gita is the guitarist and president of the jazz band catpurr^^capture. She made the band on a whim due to her newfound interest for jazz, recruiting her childhood friend, Haito, and her acquintances, Yuu and Aina.

Gita and her dad moved next to Haito's family when she was a child. Her dad was quite an eccentric and she grew up curious with antique novelties and murder mystery comics around her. Even though she was sick often, Gita was hardly homebound and often explored her neighborhood along with Haito who's compelled to take care of her.

In the present day, her dad is travelling abroad, so she's currently living with the house caretaker and assistant, Ari. In college, she is majoring in chemistry. She is also in the library committee and often goes to campus events and exhibitions.

Following Yuu's death, she unknowingly went to the Tabletop Sekai and was recruited by Hatsune Miku to aid him in capturing the Phantom Thief Otomachi Una. After failing and getting their Untitled stolen instead, the band decided to keep playing music in the Sekai as bait to seize the thief.

Personality

Gita is very selfish and self-driven, only acting upon her interests and is rarely fazed by other people's concerns. She is also curious and drawn by things that are fascinating and mysterious. This has pushed her to try various things, and her being a fast learner has made her proficient in many.

Despite one of her main principles being staying true to herself, Gita is hardheaded and doesn't harbor many feelings in people or her hobbies, so she has redefined it to be the importance of doing whatever she desires. Her actions are also driven by a strong sense of justice and a tendency to deliver it. 

Gita is blunt, straightforward, and firm in her words and actions. She has a habit to overfocus on her goals and the things she does, which makes her insensitive to her surroundings. She often sees others from an outsider's view, like something to study and observe, and not a person to form bonds with. These traits along with her eccentricity have impaired many of her relationships, but she doesn't seem to mind it much. She is good at making conversations, but is rarely interested in interaction with her peers. She is self-sufficient and seldom asks her friends for help or company, but is content whenever someone indulges her whims.

Her personality derives a lot from her love for the serial manga Detective Ponan and admiration for her dad. Her air of detachment makes her seem mature at first glance, but Haito would describe her as childish, having never changed from how she was when they first met as kids.

Relationships

Ishikawa Yuu
A senior she met through being in the library committee. She finds interest in him, sensing there is a lot to learn about him beneath the carefree surface. She invited him to join her band after learning that he plays the saxophone. After his death, Gita strives to know the truth behind his death, not believing it to be an accident or suicide.

Nyuu
Gita thinks nothing more of him than a cheap, shallow copy, often ignoring him for it. She is also very wary of him trying to gain the hearts of their fellow bandmates, and would warn them not too get too attached to a dead person's shadow. There is a lot of tension between them with Gita not wanting to acknowledge the other's existence, and Nyuu thinking that the other's pursue of truth is futile and unnecessary. 

Seo Haito
A childhood friend that was often dragged by her antics as a kid. During their teenage years, they interact a lot less as both went to different schools, but would still comfortably chat and play board games together once in a while. Haito's family is also close with her, often inviting her over for dinner and other events. Having both admitted to the same college, Gita asked him to form a jazz band with her, knowing his skills in playing the piano and composing songs. She feels trust and endearment towards him more than anyone else, though their friendship feels casual at best.

Nitta Aina
Aina joined Gita's band after seeing a recruitment poster for it. Her passionate drumming skills quickly impressed Gita. Gita and Aina share similar degrees of selfishness, though Gita sees it as righteous; opposite to Aina who sees it as something to hide and excuse. Aina likes to suck up and tease her, but Gita would effortlessly shoot her down with blunt words. They are not on the closest terms, but Gita holds some respect to her as her indomitable spirit reminds her of her dad's.

Gugum Gumilar
Gita looks up to her dad's sense of freedom and wonder, aspiring to be as knowledgeable as him one day. Her dad loves her very much and is very dewy-eyed about it, often crying when Gita is troubled or when he misses her, which Gita thinks is a embarassing of him. Maybe this is why sentimentality-wise, she is the complete opposite of her dad.

Ari Oliver
Gita's assistant. She's super clumsy in her work, but she gets the job done. She's barely in Gita's peripherals, for better or worse.
