- Jay lives in a radio tower, able to broadcast news of trades, travel, and music to anyone in the area willing to listen.
- Jay was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder at 19, and has a history of numerous crimes and visits to juvenille detention.
- Being unpredictable off of his medication, Jay has worked out a system with the surrounding communities who provide him SSRIs and materials to survive in return for his service as a radio host.
- Jay briefly went on a mini killing spree at the beginning of the apocalypse in an attempt to let out his pent up anger from years of repression.
Jay is a welcoming individual who would prefer to spend most of his time alone, but wouldn't hesitate to open his doors to friends or those in need. He spends his free time making indie music, recording music to play on the radio mingled with songs from before the apocalypse.

Lance travels often, usually not near Jay's town, but whenever Lance passes by, Jay always welcomes Lance with open arms. The two talk often about their lives and spend days together, catching each other up, and Lance often gifts Jay trinkets or memorabilia from his travels! Jay often shows Lance his works in progress as well.
Jay sees Sophie even less than he sees Lance, as Sophie is much more stationary than Lance, but occasionally Sophie will visit Jay when out on a rare supply run. She gifts him moonshine and marijuana, and Jay is always glad to see her.
Although Sparks only briefly stayed with Jay, the two spent long nights together in silence. He seemed to be grieving, and Jay allowed him to drink and smoke his sorrows away as long as he needed. Jay woke up one night to Sparks' absence. He hopes he's okay, as minimal as their time together was.
