I'm by no means a popular designer, but I know quite a few people who struggle to sell their designs and figured i'd share some tips! If you have any resources to add to this, feel free to comment!

NETWORKING
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

1. ADVERTISEMENT
Unfortunately, just putting your adopts in the Toyhouse marketplace usually doesn't cut it. characters quickly get buried there (which is why it's important to tag your adopts). it's also important to advertise across multiple platforms to ensure your designs get attention!

Places to advertise:
Toyhouse forums
Instagram
Discord
Twitter
Deviantart

I've had most luck with discord servers. Look to see if your favorite artist/designer has a server, and make sure to check out every art server you come across!
Here are some discord servers i've been using to advertise in:
Toyhouse Trades (9,000 members)
Adoptable OC (4,000 members)
FRU1TL00PS (400 members)
➼ Adopt Market (300 members)
Sakura Gardens (200 members)
feel free to suggest more!

2. CONNECTIONS
It's hard to sell designs when nobody knows who you are, so be friendly and try to connect with the art/design community to make a name for yourself!

Ways to connect:
➼ Participate in Toyhouse forum games
➼ Check if your favorite artists/designers have a discord server
➼ Like and comment on other people's adopts, even if you can't offer for them
➼ Make raffles and freebies that encourage people to interact with you
➼ Join species communities, i've made ALOT of friends that way!

Be friendly to everyone, and don't be afraid to send a message to an artist you look up to! you have nothing to lose when you reach out to people with friendliness.

3. POST REGULARLY
Once you've got people's attention, you have to keep it. it's best to make an effort to post regularly- it makes you look more professional. You don't have to post a new adopt every day, and art block may hit you on ocassion, but try to have some consistency to your upload schedule. Making at least 1 design a week will keep subscribers aware of your existence

4. MAKE SURE PEOPLE ARE ONLINE
This applies across all platforms! try to avoid posting late at night or whenever fewer users are on. Toyhouse displays the amount of people online at the bottom, try to make sure at least 3k are on whenever you post! On other platforms you can easily google for statistics whenever people are most active online. Sundays appear to be when people are most inactive, so try to avoid posting on that day.

1. OBSERVE POPULAR TRENDS
The popular page is a fantastic resource for seeing what types of designs people are interested in! Take mental notes of certain species, art styles, colors, and aesthetics. take the aspects of these trends you're capable of achieving, and try and incorporate it in your own designs! Try to put your own twist on popular trends, make it stand out in a way that's uniquely you!

2. BUILD A BRAND
Alot of popular designers have a signature style or aesthetic prevalent throughout all of their designs. experimenting with style is totally fine, but it's very beneficial to have your own distinct "brand". maybe you use really thick lineart, or really bright colors! having some sort of consistency throughout most of your designs gives people a better idea of what your future designs might look like, which will help them stick around!

3. LEARN COLOR THEORY
Learning color theory has helped benefit my own designs immensely! I highly reccomend giving this video a quick watch.

4. EXAMINE GOOD DESIGNS
Do not steal other people's colors schemes for your own designs, rather, examine the designs from your favorite artists and color pick it to see where it is on the color wheel. this will give you a better idea on how experienced artists use colors that compliment one another!
