Niko is an accomplished huntsman who has chosen to live a life of isolation in the remote mountains outside the Saponella River Communities. He values his solitude, often spending days on end wandering the wilderness with only his loyal hunting dog, Duke, for company. He is highly knowledgeable about the local wildlife and is an expert in the art of hunting and survival.

Despite his reclusive tendencies, Niko is not immune to his vices. He occasionally returns to society to take on various odd jobs, namely leading tours for tourists eager to explore the mountains, but only for the sake of making a living. After restocking basic necessities, he often squanders his remaining coin at the local gambling halls.

One day, while on a hike in the mountains, Niko was bitten by a luna moth. As a seasoned outdoorsman, he knew that luna moths do not possess the ability to bite. The event left him puzzled, and as the red welt on the back of his neck itched incessantly, he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled over him.

Niko prefers the isolation of the wilderness, although he is not averse to socializing in gambling halls and bars. Despite his poker face and gruff exterior, he has a generally amiable personality and can actually be quite friendly after a few drinks. He is not one to go out of his way to help strangers, but he is willing to lend a hand to those who ask for assistance.

Upon reaching full stress, you may rely on your dormant Lucan powers and choose to stay active in the scene. The next action roll you take is Desperate Great as you have enhanced physical, sensory, and magical abilities but crucially lack control. You cannot increase your stress or accept assistance, although you may always accept a Devil’s Bargain upon rolling.
