BACKGROUND  

Adalinn was a lonely girl. Cutting contact with her parents and moving out of state to live in a quiet town really took a toll on her mental health. While she enjoyed living in peace, she would often feels spikes of depression and loneliness. Despite feeling lonely, her intense anxiety made it hard for her to go out and actually bond with people. So, she would just sit in her cabin, play romantic songs as she prayed something or someone attractive could bust through the door and change her life. Everything changed when the man of her dreams appeared, literally. 

One faithful night in the summer, Adalinn saw a handsome slender man in her dream. He was tall and had ear length thick blonde straight hair, dark brown nearly black eyes, a tall black top hat, black eye patch on his right eye, knee length black tux like coat with a gold outline and gold brick like pattern imprinted on it, a yellow vest with a black brick pattern, gray long sleeve dress shirt underneath, black dress pants, black shoes, and a long black cane. He was the most attractive person she had ever seen. She couldn't help but just stand there frozen in shock, her mouth wide open in a cartoonish looking gasp. The man smiled at her, approaching her as he chuckled. When he eventually reached her, her heart was racing. He simply closed her mouth and leaned down to meet her face to face, his eyes seeming to glow a faint yellow as he said, "Why, hello beautiful". She jolted awake, quickly sitting up in her bed as she breathed heavily. She wiped the sweat off her forehead as she tried to calm herself down. In all her years of living, she had NEVER had a dream like that. The rest of her day was filled with her thinking about the mysterious dream man. Who is he? Why did she suddenly dream up this hunk? Why.... is he so hot?

The next night, she saw him again in the same get up as last time. This time they were in a flower field with a delicious picnic laid out in the grassy clearing. The man once again smiled at her but this time grabbed her hand, getting on one knee and kissing her hand. Adalinn's face turned red when he kissed her hand, once again feeling her heart rate speed up. He got up and led her over to the picnic he had set up for them. They sat on the cloth and the man introduced himself to Adalinn, calling himself Bill Cipher.

They continued to have these dream dates for several weeks. Each day she slowly but surely started incorporating yellow, black, triangles, and brick patterns into her clothing. Everything was going great until one night, during a carnival dream date at the top of the Ferris wheel, Bill looked over at her and simply asked, "Do you love me?".

Adalinn smiled and quickly nodded her head, "Yeah! Of course I love you! I absolutely adore you".

Bill smiled back, "I love you too Adalinn, It's just..." he looked away and let out a dramatic sigh as he frowned.

Adalinn frowned and placed her hand on his shoulder, "What's wrong honey?".

Bill placed his hand on hers and looked over at her with a sad look, "Nothing baby it's just... I wish I could come out of your dreams and join you in the real physical world. You and I would have so much fun together but.... alas... the only way to get me out of here is manipulating a few things in the physical world but you know... I can't exactly do that".

Adalinn's eyes lit up, "You... you could become real and join the physical world with me?".

Bill held back a mischievous smile as his plan was coming to fruition, "Of course! But... you'd have to do a few.... FAVORS for me and oh I... I don't want to bother you with such demanding tasks. Maybe we should leave well enough alone and just enjoy what we have".

Adalinn grabbed both of his hands with a big smile, "No no it's no biggie! I'd do anything for you! I promise".

He looked over at her and smiled, "Really? Anything?"

She quickly nodded her head, "Uh huh! Anything darling!! Anything at all".

He hugged her tightly, "Oh my beloved, how could I ever repay you?".

Adalinn hugged him back, "Oh honey, all I want from you is your love. Just some kisses and affection will do! I can do what ever you want me to do and you gotta love me in return. Deal?"

Bill mischievously smiled, letting go of her. He held his hand out to her and it began to glow an intense blue fire, his eyes had a triangle shape in them as they glowed yellow "Deal! Let's shake on it sugar". Adalinn nodded and happily shook his hand. After that night, Adalinn has had Bill's voice in her head when she's awake. He would ask her to do something for him and she'd do it, getting rewarded with a kiss or something equally sweet in her dreams. It started simple enough will small things like but slowly escalated to more intense requests. No matter how odd or demanding a request was, she did it. No questions asked.

When Bill was summoned by Gideon and "defeated" by the kids, he went around the town to take in what he missed but noticed a cabin in the woods he had never seen before. Inside he found Adalinn and could sense her loneliness. He knew instantly that she would be SO easy to manipulate. He planned to sweep her off her feet and get her to a point where she was so infatuated with him that she would do ANYTHING for him. She was like putty in his hands. He never had feeling for her, she was just another pawn in his evil scheme. He needed her as a link to the physical world, she was the only person in modern times who would let him in and out of her body as he pleased (Not in that way). He showers her in praise and kisses every time she did something he wanted. It didn't take him too long to realize she doesn't mind his simple triangle form. All she ever wanted was to be loved and have someone's full attention and Bill gave her that in exchange for some favors.
