- Like the isopod he's based on, Louse can change his sex.
- Pain is not the only thing he can't feel. Louse has no feeling when he touches things, and he can't feel hungry, thirsty, or full either.
- Normally, v-strains can only consume blood, but Louse is able to consume other things as he himself can eat still without needing to use the host's digestive system. Though, some things upset his stomach as v-strains lack the digestive enzyme maltase.
- The long pincers at the end of Louse's tail are for gripping onto the spinal cord's top most spinal nerves. They also help initiate the horizontal gene transfer. His hook-like claws grip the thalamus, and his fluffy fur strands manipulate various muscles and nerves. However, all of these features can be retracted when they're outside of a host.
- During the first stages of infection, Louse feeds on the marrow inside the jaw bones of the host. This is so that when he is finally large enough, he can more easily break the jaw to take up residence inside the mouth cavity. They have to reside in the mouth cavity because of the way they connect to the top part of the spine and thalamus.
- Surprisingly, his hosts don't die. Their bottom jaws just have to be removed, which can be done safely as Louse causes no damage to the major carotid arteries in that area.
- Louse's taciturn nature is actually because he himself can't speak. He has to manipulate the vocal chords of the host to produce words and sounds, which is understandably strenuous and yields weird, uncanny sounding results. He's also just nervous to talk, and only does so with people he trusts entirely. His fear of talking is often paralyzing, and he actually can't control when he can and when he can't speak.
- As he is basically piloting a meat suit like it's a mecha, Louse tends to move very awkwardly, clumsily, and slowly. His movements can be described as creepy and unsettling as they're obviously inhuman and often contort the body in ways that would normally hurt.
- Being separated from his host terrifies him. Louse will often go out of his way to make sure his host doesn't die. Not being able to feel pain often causes issues with this, though.
- Whenever Louse falls asleep, the host sometimes regains control, horrifyingly.
- He is actually outsized in his boxing division. V-strains are normally much larger. He's still just as capable, though.
- Like a weird freak, Louse actually hunts his own food. He survives on a diet of wild life (which is okay for him to do, as a v-strain).
