Shizue Akamura

General Info

Shizue is the proverbial glue that ties many of my characters together... for better or for worse.

Towards strangers, she's quite hostile and distant. When she's around friends, however, she becomes a typical overprotective guardian. She also cracks some really morbid jokes.

Her voice is slightly deep and raspy.

Backstory

A long, long time ago, Shizue lived in the northern parts of Japan, brought up by an adoptive family that specialized in fishing. As she grew older, Shizue suffered from various afflictions - mainly, a weak immune system and an uncomfortably large height. During one particularly bad illness, Shizue had enough, and sought out a doctor for a cure. After some searching, she came across Jacob.

He ended up helping Shizue with her problems, and the two became fast friends. In addition to Jacob, she also met her SO, Mitsuko, as well as Gun'harand. After a year or so of friendship, Gun'harand came up with an idea; the four of them could use their resources to help people around the area, and defend the archipelago from outside threats. And so, the Unity was formed. Around this time, Nat was born, and Mitsuko was killed by an unknown individual. 

Shizue initially believed that a former friend was the murderer, until Jacob told her that Gun'harand did it - and framed said friend - to force Shizue into more Unity work. After discovering Gun'harand's true plans (read their profile to learn them), the three took a road trip to Neapolis in order to retrieve advanced technology from a secret Shadow Person vault. Their plan? To stop Gun'harand, no matter what.

After getting armored up - and befriending a Roman soldier in the process - the gang returned to Gun'harand's fortress in order to defeat them. The end result was mixed; although Gun'harand was seriously wounded, Jacob had been killed, and Shizue was cut in half below the waist. After seeing off Gaius, Shizue and Nat retreated to a cave, where she 'hibernated' for several hundred years. (Her suit kept her alive during all of this.)

Around the year 1000, a team of explorers discovered the cave, which included the Goldmane Stranger and Thikaid. Once they found Shizue, and learned her story and the truth of Gun'ha, they set to work on giving her robotic legs. The project was a success that improved more and more as time went on, but the searing pain left from Gun'harand's near-fatal slash remained. Once it was finished, Shizue explored the world for herself, figuring out what she missed in the 700 years since the Unity business. 

Once that was over, she got to work on a project of her own; finding a way to kill Gun'harand once and for all. She started up a group called Shizue's Agents, which are exactly what you'd expect - people who dig up dirt on what that motherfucker is doing. (Kind of like Sol Invictus, now that I think about it.) Not much happened with them, however, and Shizue put the whole thing on a backburner, focusing her efforts on researching the origins of the Celestials and Shadow People, as well as the Maldedrom.

She eventually returned to the whole Agents thing when Gun'harand started up the Sol Invictus cult. Nowadays, she plays the waiting game, gathering more and more people on her side, as well as turning members away from - and causing instability in - the cult. 

Time will only tell as to who'll win in the end...

• Her favorite colors are green and red. Who would've thought?
  • Her least favorite color is yellow.
• One of her favorite hobbies is hiking.
• Shizue has a allergy to fish and an affinity for tea.
• She doesn't have a favorite animal. Instead, I'll tell your her least favorite animals. They are goats.
• Her armor was created by Jacob before the first fight against Gun'harand.
  • It's partially made out of clothing owned by Mitsuko.
  • She does have a helmet to complete the suit, but it was designed at the very last minute, and is incredibly hard to breathe in.
• She has a fear of heights.
• Shizue claims to be the sole creator of the Cool S. (In reality, she did create it, but with the help of Thikaid.)
• Due to forgetfulness, Shizue doesn't remember what her birth name was. She was given the name by Jacob to hide her identity in Rome.
• Who are her original parents? Nobody knows. 
  • They're most likely dead anyways, so who cares?
