Sharing the womb with a twin, Maylu’s life force is linked with another, a phenomena that dualises her mana pool and boosts its passive regeneration twofold. A rarity for surviving multibirths, this lends well to the practice of magical arts, if only they learn to hone this power in synchrony.

Maylu’s affinity is with the fire element, which gives her the ability to heat matter to an incinerating degree. Though destructive, Maylu fears the temperament of her fire spells and neglects to deploy them. Instead, she favours casting light magic, and is an adept healer.

Maylu is physically weak and off-balance which renders her mostly defenseless. However, she is highly intuitive and sensitive to paranormal activities. This talent offers the twins a compass in the blind, but also leaves her susceptible to being influenced as a spiritual medium.

SOLSTICE is a claw-shaped staff made of luminescent, crystalline plasma. It manifests from a parasitic gene that was implanted in Maylu’s right arm during an unsuccessful sacrificial ritual performed by a predacious warlock not long ago.

It feeds on health and mana and harms its host with debilitating symptoms that progressively worsen until it's appeased. For Maylu, it begins with soreness in her right wrist which gradually radiates along her arm. Her skin grows warm and erythematic. If left undealt with, her right arm is soon overcome with excruciating pain.

Maylu must summon the relic and channel her mana through it in order to alleviate this pervasive syndrome. The staff amplifies the range and strength of her spells while enabling her to use better tiers of magic. It also halves the mana cost of spells, instead, taking the equivalent price in blood.

SOLSTICE is right-handed, with a 6th finger protruding from its back. The other 5 fingers shift incessantly in a spider-like motion and may grab nearby objects on its own volition. Its palm is the active site and the shaft is almost as long as her body is tall. The crystalline material glows a peachy hue, which flushes when gorging on blood and mana.
