Chimmney fails to completely uncover the mystery surrounding Zach Lowry. Frustrated and angry at the loss of a meal, he instead redoubles his efforts in manipulating Tom which pushes the boy over the edge and causes a split between them.
As of his and Tom's departure, Chimmney's whereabouts are completely unknown. Whether he survived or starved to death is a mystery, and Tom prefers it to remain that way.
