emily: i wish i had a friend
chimmney: granted but its me
Not much different than in situations where he's just a snake ghost possessing a vessel, though the sharper points of his personality are softened a bit. He can be sheepishly devoted to the people he cares about.
Chiefly a wanderer who remains in the shadows. With no possession abilities and a solid form, Chimmney must be much more careful when interacting with others. Tangibility forces an acknowledgement on his own influence on the world. He is much more aware of the evil he's done in his past.
His magic is less potent than he presents it to be. Abilities are mainly in shadowmancy, illusion, and physical manipulation of objects. If someone were to wish for a million dollars, it's much harder for him to manifest the money out of thin air than it would be for him to, say... Steal it from a bank. The 'legwork' required to satisfy the wishes of humans is something he hides from them for the justified anxiety they would see him for what he really is. (That would be, a hack)
Trivia
- He has a lot of random and inexplicable stuff in his pockets, especially handwritten notes lost in the lining of his coat.
- He has scratchy, messy doctor's handwriting.
- He can technically eat, but he can't taste anything. He likes drinking alcohol more, and can get himself drunk if he tries hard enough. How his biology works is anybody's guess.
- The lantern is always there, but the chain not so much. If he wanders off too far from it, the chain will appear around his wrist.
- Banjo-player.
- His claws work. Physically he has about average strength for someone of his size but his claws can tear through stuff if he works at it. Probably his teeth too but he's not about to bite into somethin' like a wild animal.
An old friend, whose soft field of grass Chimmney tripped and fell into years ago. He was attracted by the miasma of death surrounding her father's home. When he arrived there, he did not expect to make a friend -- neither would be expect how fast his loyalty would grow to her.
Chimmney's emotions are complex. He bears knowledge of both the metaphysical curse that ensares her life and the burden this places on her. Her desperation for companionship leaves him no choice but to provide: him, the selfish and conniving monster who rides on the coattails of tragedy.
- Height: 6'3"
- Hair: Uhhh
- Eyes: Hmm
- Build: Stocky
Chimmney seems put together haphazardly at best, a patchwork of old memories and a set of clothes whose only use was housing moths inside of a dark closet. The coat is stubbornly taken care of despite its age, doubly so for the hat. He is tall and solid; his posture is straight like an arrow. Self-conduction reminds one of a salesman or priest. Somebody who wants to convince you of something.
